Port Adelaide Football Club
The morning after perhaps its greatest AFL win so far, the Port Adelaide Football Club has another loud and clear message to send to its supporters – ‘thanks for coming’.
Power chief executive Brian Cunningham paid tribute to the 39,250 who almost tore the roof off AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
“Not only did the crowd number exceed all expectations but the atmosphere was just magic,” Cunningham said.
“It was loud and passionate and the players commented after the game how good it felt to play well in front of such a fantastic crowd.
“There was that finals energy around from the minute you walked in the ground and it didn’t stop until after last drinks were called at The Port Club!
“So to everyone who came, thanks for making the effort and being part of something a bit special.”
The crowd eclipsed the Power’s home finals record of 36,557 set last year when the Power beat Essendon in a semi-final.
The Power will call for a similar crowd effort when tickets go on sale through BASS on Monday 13 September for the preliminary final to be played against St Kilda or Sydney on Saturday 18 September, time to be confirmed.
Prices will start from $51.50 for adults, $34.50 concession and $22 for kids.
