We've been hearing since Saturday that there will DEFINITELY be a winner this week. So, in the unlikely event that the game is still tied after extra time, what is the situation?

Surely like every other professional league in the world, the AFL have a plan for such a situation, no matter how unlikely.

Does anyone know, or is it a case of more policy on the run?

If the Grand Final is a draw - Ten minutes of extra time will be played, consisting of two five-minute halves. If the scores are still tied after that period, then another 10 minutes of extra time will be played. There will be a result next Saturday. :)

I think the AFL's next back up plan after it is tied after extra time is a game of British Bulldogs and whoever teams player is left standing wins the GF. :D

If that's the case then I hope it happens ;)

we have this man..

Hadn't heard this one - think you've answered the question, cheers.

So the question begs to be asked, why didnt the AFL change the rule to get a result last week?

doesnt matter because i reckon this game will have a result at 3-quarter time.

but the rules smack of inconsistency. extra-time in finals, no extra time in 1st GF, but then extra-time in replay. it's a joke.

1st GF and 2nd GF walked into a bar ...

It will ruin the whole finals fixture up.
If there is a draw in the first week of the finals, every thing gets pushed back a week, and creates chaos.

Hmm technically there is still a minuscule chance that it might still be a draw even with the extra 20mins mentioned... so Im assuming they just keep piling on 10mins extra time until they get a result right?
So theres a chance the game can go for like 3hrs then? Would definitely be a test of mental strength then..

Multiball!!!!!!!!!!!!

they already have them waiting behind the goals ...
might be the way to prevent Kosi from taking out Roo in a marking contest

Go get the first one Kos!
Now Roo, if you just look to your right in 5 seconds time, you'll see a different option ...
