Like last weeks optimistic figures, 10k were travelling Port fans, another 10k for MCG members & neutrals, combined with another 7k being the series ticketed game.

Only 25k of Geelongs 43k members showed up!

Maybe this game should have been played at Junction Oval?

Oh give me a break. You have 80,000 members and this game still drew more than yours!

50k crowds are good they just don't fill the mcg

final games b/w vic clubs v non vic clubs should be played @ the docklands or if geelong kardinia park

I think 52k between two non Melbourne based teams at the MCG is better then I expected for a semi final. You also need to weigh up that tickets are expensive. Travel is expensive. Also the game is available for free on TV. 52k is very reasonable !

With the help of 6-7 thousand series tickets. Very disappointing effort.

Maybe they have finals fatigue?
Twist the figures any way you wish, Geelong outdrew you

80k.... lol

Night semi-final crowds at the MCG:

2012 65,483 Collingwood v West Coast
2011 55,198 Hawthorn v Sydney
2010 39,596 Bulldogs v Sydney
2010 45,056 Geelong v Fremantle
2009 62,184 Collingwood v Adelaide
2009 47,030 Bulldogs v Brisbane
2008 76,707 St.Kilda v Collingwood
2008 42,731 Bulldogs v Sydney
2007 74,981 North v Hawthorn
2004 53,356 Geelong v Essendon
2004 50,671 St.Kilda v Sydney
2002 51,533 Adelaide v Melbourne
2000 50,027 North v Hawthorn

52K wasn't terrible.

Pretty good crowd comparing to that list. Two non-Melbourne teams playing at G drew over 50k is a great result. Weather forecast for today predicted thunderstorms and rain which would have turned people off.

About the same crowd as last week's Pies v Port game, and Cats have half the membership of Pies
