This game could well be the match of the year. With injuries to some of Xavier's best players as well as several being moved up, could Carey be the short priced favourites? Inclusions into the side include The World's greatest Forward Chodda, who is ironically playing backline, some skinny kid with glasses, Matt Adams and Dan 'the Man' Kiely. Supposedly a decent crowd will come out to the Roach oval as well as club scouts looking for the next James Woods.

Who is your tip for your thriller? I'm going with Xavier by 4. What star Carey players will be there?

Well really theres no stars in the carey side, there a champion team not a team of champions, except ofcourse the man the myth the legend, next years first Draft Pick in HASLAM! The game might be close, if he werent in the side but he is so im gonna say carey by 150 points, Haslam will kick a a goal or two, but more likely 10, and get about 50 possesions in a dominating performance, and if there are scouts there like you say, well expect them to be so impressed that the rumour mills will stop, and next years number one draft pick!
Watch out Xavier, because haslam will dominate!

Haslam ur a flog, would u get off big footy for good? sick of hearing from ya...anyway the mighty xav side looking impressive as my good friend balme here has eluded to, hoping for a big game from dan kiely, get that raking right foot in working order. also, brazzale kicking a lazy 5 last week, hope to see a repeat. however if you need some tips watch the boarders before you, will be amazed at the talent that side is producing. liam o'brien to be the surprise packet, was strong in the air last week. also, kieran brennan charging out of CHF...oh yeh, 3rds. Go XAVS (and go balme)

this is a brilliant idea for a thread
this will defintetely be the match of the round out of any APS sport in any year level. Xavier 3rds squad is strong lets not forget that. Word around town is that Adams is coming off a memorable pre season and Pat Stokes is establishing himself as an important midfield player. The late scratching of Corcoran, due to a "hot spot" found on the leg he severed months ago, would really hurt Xaviers pricing odds for this match you would have to think.

Carey's outfit does look impressive however. We have integrated alot of youth with senior players, forming a deadly and formidable combination. Not an overly tall side, but our run and carry style of footy should be helped by Xavier's giant main oval. In all...Carey by 15 points in an upset victory.

Watch for the likes of Ramsay to put opposition oppents in a frenzy as he bulldozes his way through congestion.

What's the moral like in the Xavier camps? They have a big task set ahead of them

you have to remember its pretty much a 3rds/4th team by xavier as its just there year 11's, Carey wouldn't want to lose.

The Canterbury superstars from both squads will rack up the possies, look for Balme and Ramsay to go one on one as they fight for 3126 supremecy. Could well be match up of the day as well.

Don't write off Jack 'the Frunk' Franklyn to carve up the ruck work. The potent spine of Moloney Morello Franklyn Davies Brazzale to be unbeatable.

ramsay and balme going toe to toe! there cant be a better match up in the history of afl/vfl football.
Will pat stokes make the trip to barkers road for the big clash?
Whats the likely starting line up

Stokes should be lining up in the midfield I think, might be 2s though, not entirely sure, might have to check up with the General Manager of Football Operations on that one. Midfield line up will be something like Franklyn, Parker, Pane and Green. Considine, finest skills in all of the APS, will be Half Back. Supposedly Lachy Healey has recovered from his disturbing elbow injury miraculously in a week and WILL be playing. Rumour file though. Forward line will feature Jack Davies, Matt Adams and Brazzale. But we could see some surprises.

Will any other former Canterbury Cobra superstars be playing? Already know of three lining up, Ramsay, Balme and one year wonder Lilley but we await confirmation of other Guildford Road specialists putting on the boots. Should be a beauty.

...well what can i say. Overan by a faster, fitter and more skilful squad. However i do believe we were a much more pysical team at the ball. Who was on Stokes and choad all game? they just ran wild and caused havoc for the opposition, great game by those boys today. It was amazing how versatille number 4 was for you guys....he played key position, crumber, ruckman and and as an inside and outside player. An amazing asset to your team most defintely.

I was as honoured as hell to be playing in this derby and it was a great clash. I hear there was a bit of a tussle between two players. Anyone care to elaborate on the issue?

Xavier won convincingly. starting the season in style after burying melbourne grammar in their first game by 101 points, these two dazzling displays have many ppl asking "can this team be beaten?" balme for best on, the way he moves is just incredible, has amazing strength for such a small man and kicking skills are on par with considine's. choader had another great game and could be considered the favourite for best and fairest, however watch out for franklyn, could be an outside chance. good win boys.. HORREH CAREY!
