This is ridiculous, not confident about any of them. Don't like Sydney much if they get injuries, Hawks have improved with Macca over Bailey but it's hard to repeat, Geelong are fading marginally, Freo just don't look balanced with the list, North would be quite a leap.
Going Freo only because I like Ross

I'll take a (painful) dark horse and say Dal Santo. Proven vote getter, will find heaps of the ball and should play in a top 8 team next year.

Such a tuff question this time of yr Hawks will be good but how injury prone will Hodge, Sewell & Lake be with their age? And no Buddy?
Swans will be good but they traded a lot of their depth to get Tippet and Buddy. A few injuries and they are stuffed???
Cats? good but again but their remaining veterans may drop off a fair bit.
Freo?? Can Pav and Big Sandilands stay fit??

I actually think we will have a really positive season. I think we will be competitive in most games. But converting that to wins is the issue, particularly considering that most teams have a good reason to claim they should "improve" next year (which obviously isn't possible from a ladder sense), yet we perhaps have more reason to say that next year will be a step back in order to move forward. Having lost Goddard, Dal, Macca over last 2 years, our direction is now clear. A little more immediate pain but investing in the future. It is exciting. We can still have a positive year even if we take the spoon home.
