True it would almost be an act of sabotage to try & stop it now when we're just about out of time for any other option in time for 2032.
It's just 1 of 35 - but the main one that us locals are invested in as it's the one real long term legacy project we will benefit from over the next 50 years...
Most people I know or chat to support the Vic park stadium plan....most of us are sick to death of all the Gabba sellouts and can readily see the Gabba is lagging wayyyyy behind all other states so something major had to be done.
I imagine the Labor party are already quite embarrassed of...
I don't think anyone living 3k's from the cbd can really expect their suburb to remain quiet and peaceful when it's in the 3rd largest - and fastest growing - city in Australia. It's just progress....these days you're lucky just not to have an apartment tower built next door overlooking your...
Wow that is scathing isn’t it! I really only attend the Gabba & wasn’t aware that basically all our sporting & entertainment infrastructure has been so badly neglected.
No wonder we’re losing so many events & concerts, where on earth is the Gov’t spending all our $$$??! Was only a few years...
With the narrow, obstacle ridden & uneven path littered with scooters up Vulture street and the terrible intersections that have to be crossed where you feel like you're about to get pushed onto the road infront of traffic, I'd rather walk 1km through a park with a 100,000 crowd!
Crowd...
1Km is too far??!
Lol I've done the 1.5k walk to the Gabba for years....and it's on awful paths along busy roads with many road crossings.....Vic park sounds like a dream by comparison!
This is so spot on! What on earth is the point of commissioning a 2nd multi million dollar review by experts and then reverting to polling more general public who have no relevant education or expertise and have a mix of vested interests?
I don't know how many people against a new stadium just...
I am sure they will find something to spend the $15 total donated :tearsofjoy:
I'd suggest they put it towards a new plant for the 50 odd hectares of parkland remaining after the stadium is built although the way they are carrying on you'd think 50 hectares is too small for new plants:tearsofjoy:
What a laugh! Broken promises and stolen dreams Lol its called progress! Finally delivering the Brisbane community a much needed and well overdue world class stadium to catch back up to the other cities in this country who invested in public infrastructure well before our lazy Gov't realised how...
No but imagine the embarrassment if that crap hole is broadcast around the world for our Olympic stadium.
Not to mention the lack of spectators that get to witness the moment with that pathetic capacity.
Are they even going to be able to park enough generators in the cemetery to run the...
I can’t work out Coates’ thinking….largest
& most prestigious sporting event in the world….to host athletics on what looks like a high school carnival venue.
But at the end of the day as a Lions fan I want to be able to take my girls to games that we miss out on currently with all the Gabba...
It sure seems the narrative is changing doesn't it!
It's amazing how much of an influence the media has in all this...I think Miles was running scared when he chose Qsac, too worried he'd be attacked in the media over the spend and wanted an easy out. Being so new to the job he didn't have the...
