    West Indies v Bangladesh (June-July 2022: 2 Tests, 3 T20s & 3 ODIs)

I agree Pooran could shine in tests if these England tactics become the norm. But he hasn't played any red ball for several years at any level. I think they're justified in wanting him to play for Guyana first. I hope he does, anyway.

I believe the reason Pooran doesn't get a game is because he doesn't participate in their first class comp because of his other commitments. Til he can get a red ball season for Trinadad and Tobago under his belt, he might be out of the picture.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (2 Tests)

Thought I'd share a post I made on another forum about Mushfiq's somewhat unrepresentative career record. His numbers basically took a significant hit due to debuting years before he was ready. In any other country he probably wouldn't have been near the test team until he was approaching his...

    Australia tour of Bangladesh 2021

I'd say they got better at using their wrists and milking runs and were less inclined to swipe at everything. Tonight was the worst Australian performance I've ever seen though. They hit three catches, very softly, straight to short cover ffs

    It'd be ****ing amazing!

    Australia tour of Bangladesh 2021

Aside from the "doctored" debate, this tickled me. Check out the deck that was on offer for Bradman's last innings. Basically a bowling green in its mid-section, with both end-sections more or less resembling the surface of the moon. Leaving aside Bradman's unique heroics, the fact that these...

    Australia tour of Bangladesh 2021

I can confirm that I've seen New Zealand prepare pitches for Bangladesh that had a tinge nearly as green as the outfield, and tracks in South Africa that bounced chest high off a good length. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, and preparing pitches that favour the home team is a practice as old...

    Australia tour of Bangladesh 2021

To be fair, we (Bangladesh) got five of our seven wickets from our quicks this time. But yes, the Australian batting against spin in the first match really something to behold. Broadly agree that there's no excuse for either SC teams or SENA(WI) teams to be so useless in unfamiliar conditions...

Coventry equals Saeed Anwar's most runs in an ODI innings record

Yeah there's some very handy players in this line-up. If politics hadn't intervened in the last five years and decent white players like Taylor, Williams and Coventry had all managed 50-70 more games of experience, they'd certainly cause problems for the quality sides. The bowling's still...

Coventry equals Saeed Anwar's most runs in an ODI innings record

Bangladesh was missing three first choice bowlers and we've also just chased down 312 with two overs to spare, with Tamim making 155. Tells you all you need to know about the pitch. It was a fine knock but I'm glad he's only equalled the record instead of breaking it.

Shakib Al Hasan vs The Great All Rounders

Yep, the 9th fastest ODI century. It's only the Zimbos, but it's the best side they've selected in years with 6 white players all making the team. He's now ranked as the number 2 bowler in ODIs and very rapidly closing in on no.1. He's also closing in on a top 10 batsman ranking in ODIs...

Shakib Al Hasan vs The Great All Rounders

He's definitely had more batting innings than all those blokes. He'd have had a lot less than 28 bowling innings given the innings defeats we're liable to suffer, but I'm not sure how relevant that is in that at 62, he's still got a better strike rate than everyone there except for Botham and...

Shakib Al Hasan vs The Great All Rounders

I've looked up the test stats for a number of the greatest all rounders of all time after they'd played their first 14 matches, which is the tally Shakib's career stands at now. Of course Shakib's stats are slightly inflated by the recent series against West Indies' C team, but I'd also suggest...

    Tri-Series - Sri Lanka v Bangladesh

That's how I'm looking at it.

    Tri-Series - Sri Lanka v Bangladesh

Kumar Sangakarra played superbly and had some able support. We bowled well throughout the innings, bar the last couple of Rubel overs.
