    We have yet to see if we as fans can trust the club to be able to develop our younger players. The reaction in the box after the Addinsall bid was matched strongly looked as if it we thought we were a very strong chance to get him.

    Once we decided not to go all in to chew up GC points and then GC did heaps of pick swaps to gain points we should have realised it was forlorn. The ONLY "if" was if we were so desperate for Lindsay and knew Hawthorn would take him. But Hawthorn doing the trade probably tells us they weren't.

    Assuming Cripps retire and older players like Cole might not be there, we would struggle to pick up 2+ 18 year olds without wrecking the age profile.

    Next year's draft is going to be interesting if our "list age profile" is the key factor again. F-S, NGA and other picks might be out the window. Maybe why we threw away the St Kilda linked 2nd rounder for next year.

    After day 1 it is hard to say we had a terrible draft. Yes we seem like we stuffed up the bidding strategy on GC players to ensure they couldn"t match the 4th Academy bid.
