Exactly what I expected.
Whether it’s the right call or not (I don’t rate Scott at all), it’s been made because of their insecurity over Carlton. That’s how they operate.
Just Welsh getting anxious measuring up at the urinal again
I like the flexibility Ryan and BMac allow, with being able to move Hardwick if forward pressure is lacking. Still working on our best setup, but they and Perez are all in the mix and have fared reasonably in their outings so far. I thought Ryan was a bit shaky on Thursday though.
After spending several days complaining about how he was actually hit in the head but didn't get off the ground quick enough. The bloke is such an idiot.
What Essendon needs is the one thing those in charge of the place for many years won't do - replacing all of them with people completely unconnected to the club and its entrenched culture. From the President, to the entire board, to the entire football department. What Melbourne did in...
Really good round of results for Hawks and even better if Dogs hold on. Back in top 4 and Swans' hold on top 2 weakened.
On the downside, Geelong building very strongly.
Be interested to know the last time a side lost that bad and won the flag the same year.
Most - including me - have been rating Lions based on what they’ve done the last couple years, not what they’re doing this year.
Yes I think with King, it’s less that he hates Hawthorn and more that he just really really loves Kingy. And more to the point, he really loves the things that Kingy says. So when Kingy has said something - and with Hawthorn that has involved talking us down especially with Kane for a couple...
Been a critical team weakness.
Has to play next week. 75% Day is far better than some of those in the team at the moment, so he's straight back. We are not playing well enough to have the luxury of leaving him at Box Hill another week.
yes the sponsorship was never going to continue. Hopefully we can leverage the AFL “forcing” it to get a favourable outcome on those 4 home games - at the MCG
I thought he provided the play of the night when he won that brave defensive aerial contest, bounced up to win contested ball and burst away. It was terrific.
If playing gives more flexibility with Hardwick, that’s a good thing.
Bit of talk around other clubs pursuing him. So glad to see him...
Good first game. What I liked most was that he kept cool under pressure. Didn’t seem rushed, which is often the big difference between VFL and AFL - players like Finn dominate VFL but are panicked and rushed at AFL. Nairn was clean and calm.
You may be right. Time will tell, but right now that is the case. He’s great down back. Can play tall and small, and burst out on the rebound. I think we leave him there this year. Maybe in time he can develop more upfield but I think for 2026 flag chase, leave him back and move some other...
