    what might of been?

The previous was a hypothethical proposal for the betterment of both codes .In reality RL could move to summer ,but AF and cricket use the same ovals .

The rest of Oz doesn't care for either .Both WA and SA have excellent ratings for thier local leagues and are just not interested in sports well covered by the commercial or pay channels .

Let's forget cricket for a while and get back to something near the original post . What if the AFL went to a summer league ,leaving NRL to it's self in the winter .(I only propose that beause AF is crap in the wet and is a good game under lights in summer ). What would happen ? Obviously...

Some changes to the international cup 2005

The good thing about a 9s comp in Oz is that games could be held at half time during AFL matches ,giving huge exposure . The crowds aren't big to watch a curtain raiser ,though post main event was tried here in W.A. with success ,enticing patrons to stay on .

Some changes to the international cup 2005

It would cost RSA less to fly to Perth than Melbourne . You'd have a better chance of defaying costs ,with the involvement of the WAFL or the two WA AFL clubs . If bonding is the big thing ,then everyone can go onto Melbourne for the final .Remember Melbourne was underwhelmed in it's...

The amount of newsprint devoted to anything is and never has been an accurate barometer of anything . Yes International Cricket fills the sports pages in summer .What else are they going to print to selll papers ? The NSL gets a huge coverage compared to when it was a winter sport .Same with...

Does Australian Rules Need To change Its Name?

People frequenting the Intenational section would realize that there's lots of non-traditional football around ,mostly centred around the nines format .e.g. nines ,oztag ,recreational football . Seemingly an amateur association runs a comp under the name "rebound footy" .Not a bad catchy name ...

    what might of been?

One wonders why sports clubs didn't eventuate fielding teams in different codes .has alot of benefits .

    Aussie Rules World Nines

Not really neccessary to squeeze it into one venue .The ultimate aim is this to be so popular that every city wants a piece of the action . As for colours , it's a bit hard when just about every country is either red/white or red/white/blue .

Does Australian Rules Need To change Its Name?

"thick as 2 bricks thugby theague " - the name given to RL here in W.A.
