Preview Round 12: Carlton vs Geelong, Fri 29 May at 7:40pm -> MCG

At least two of Worps, Bruhn and Bowes to come in. I think Martin will want to play but might require a rest. Cameron loves this fixture - hopefully kicks a few and maintains form. We need to suffocate them in the contest, get the clearance and overwhelm them pressing forward. First 10 minutes...

Game Day Rd 11 Geelong V Swannies Sat May 23rd 415 pm @ KP

Close has to mark that one above his head - would not have been a turnover otherwise

Mullin and O'Connor to both play run with/shut down roles. Blakey and Heeney the obvious two who need close attention (as rightly already pointed out by other posters). I think team defence can take care of Papley who tends to find himself further up the ground at GMHBA where he is less potent...

Review Cats smash Lions by 41pts in battle of the felines GF rematch

Lawson Humphries' sister Meeza deserves coaches votes for the design of tonight's Cats jumper. Unreal.

Tom Sheridan. Played 80 odd games for Freo then a couple with GWS. He's a bit of lad and has some great stories about his time under Ross Lyon. I think he'd be one of those memorable teammates who didn't play much but made the club experience enjoyable for most.

Review Cats down North by 49 points

Edwards was well beaten today but his second efforts and desperation are elite for his size. Put on a massive shepherd to protect Holmes running towards goal with about 7 or 8 minutes left in the third which personified his willingness to put his body on the line.

Game Day Rnd 8, Cats vs North, 4:35pm on Sat 2 May @ KP

Forwards need to shut down defensive rebound from Parker. Danger overdue for something inspirational. This should be a tough encounter. Looking forward to it.

Jhye Clark has his areas of improvement but his effort, intensity, hunger and hardness cannot be denied - might be the week where he comes back in when our side needs an injection of these qualities

Loving the selection squeeze - kudos to the coaches and strength and conditioning teams for priming such a strong and versatile squad - plenty of game plan options for this week

    Preview Rd 6 Geelong V Woofas in Blitz's 300th Fri Apr 17 2026 GMHBA @ 7:20 pm

Remarkable achievement by Blicavs to notch up 300 games. In recent years, he has been in our top few most important players on the team sheet. Arguably, through his dedication and physical prowess, combined with the club's vision, patience and player development excellence, he has reinvented a...

Game Day Rd 5 Geelong V West Coast Sun Apr12 2026 @ 1230 pm Gather somewhere

This is one of those games where we've historically turned up half asleep and found ourselves 20 points down at quarter time. Need to bring the intensity early, run and spread quickly and get it on our terms. Expecting Jezza to find form this week.

Rumour GFC 2026 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

Hard yes in agreement to park Barker and have a look at Herbert. Ultra conservative approach for Barker to have solid phase of learning the craft and establishing durable strength and conditioning to hit a solid block of VFL games early next season.

Maximum of four changes this week. Rest Atkins, Humphries, and maybe Mullin if he's sore. Maybe MOC back this week. Stanley has recently played well against the Dogs. Prefer him to come in next week but will likely come in against WCE. Keep Close in to regain form. I'd love it if Stengle was...

Rumour GFC 2026 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

I think these rumoured $2mil per season offers to Butters from clubs with higher draft picks will require a major shakeup of our equitable salary cap management system to remain at the trade table - also don't think Close will have much trade value in Port's eyes - Stengle might be closer to...

Wiltshire, Martin and O Henry need to bring the heat today - defensive pressure doesn't have to be perfect but needs to be relentless and effective
