Last year I did not see much in him and wanted him delisted. Happy to admit I was wrong.
Has been showing a lot this year and could be a decent player.
Leading up to the draft I recall some comparing him to a young Patrick Dangerfield.
I got curious and looked it up, Cumming’s first year stats are comparable, possibly even tracking better, to Danger’s second season (noting he only played two games in his first season).
I think this guy will essentially become our version of a Bailey Fritsch type of player, but with a little extra height and a leap similar to Riewoldt's. Won't be the focal point of our forward-line, but I expect him to add something we new that we haven't had for the last couple of seasons
Yep, all these boys know each other to some degree, with most of them having at least one good mate they've played with drafted alongside them.
Hard to see any of them wanting to leave that behind unless they're not getting opportunity or they're offered insane money that we can't match.
I noticed that too. If we really did rate him that highly then it's amazing we managed to trade out the pick we would've used for North's future first, and instead snag him with our future fourth.
Nice to see us actually being decent at the trade table.
It's a really good point. The only thing I'd add, at least in Bo's case, is that he did play a bunch of senior WAFL games this year which I imagine may be a step-up from TAC Cup in terms of playing against more mature (and possible more skilled) players.
I didn't discount at all what he can do.. Simply said it's a shame it's not one of his strengths.
I also didn't state he needed to be an elite contested mark.
I recognise he's a a great talent and he's my preferred pick for 6, for what it's worth.
It's a shame that his contested marking is listed as an area for improvement, with his size I reckon he could be a nightmare against defenders when sneaking forward otherwise.
