    There was a report that he was seen in the locker room without a limp after the game so hopefully it’s not serious.. Get voting to get him an All Star game.. I think he deserves it. Chicago are a ruder-less ship without him on court..

    Seriously, you’re comparing competing in MMA and a state of origin match.. The clubs sign off on their players competing in these games.. The players are also paid to compete in these games.. The players aren’t sneaking out to compete without the clubs authorising it..

    My opinion, state of origin if set up correctly can be the way players can test themselves against the best and play with their best peers. In AFL the greatest individual award (aside from Brownlow) is All Australian selection and that doesn’t lead to anything more as there is no one to compete...

    I just don’t get the argument that players are risking themselves in a state of origin match.. Players risk injury at training, should we stop that too.. You can’t wrap athletes in cotton wool on the off chance they get injured, that’s their risk to take..If I was a player I’d love to play...

    Completely agree with everything you wrote…Any average fan could manage / forecast the problems these things create and yet the AFL tinker around the edges and don’t make the necessary changes to fix the looming problems…It’s all so obviously flawed and easily fixed, and yet here we are…

    My POV, most would accept (maybe with the exception of GC fans), that the system is obscenely flawed and the academy rules needed to be tightened years ago.. It’s three years too late… The AFL don’t listen to the clubs.. I’d be favouring fans showing their disapproval and not show up to GC...

    I’d have one of Irving or Cotton going… They’d give us a scoring option in a close contest. Would think Rocco would be in. Would take only one of Green and Thybulle, if that.. Dash would be a good chance by 2028 if he develops. It’s a talented group…

    If anyone has any sense at the Hawks, which they do, they leave the Merrett thing next year.. There is plenty else to focus on.. Resume mission Merrett in 2027 when he’s a UFA.. No need to even converse with that delusional club in the black and red. just send them a thank you card for the free...

    Not sure about others but I am happy with the way this off season has panned out.. From being willing to trade out of the draft for 2-3 years for Merrett, to bringing in some really talented kids, and keeping and even gaining assets for next year. It might lessen our chances to win it all next...

    My great hope is this is the last draft that the Suns get to Monopolise with their academy access and discounts.. I hope they lose FA Ben King for peanuts this year, then Hawks raid them for Anderson 2027…Getting Noah Anderson home would be delicious!!
