The stats or the eye test don’t definitively support your statement… Oscar Allen has played 20 + more games and has only kicked 18 more goals. If Lewis can get his body right he’s a better player than Allen in my view. He’s got the talent he just needs a good run at it and if he did, plenty of... -

You mustn’t have been following the calibre of players netting band one compensation.. Oscar Allen, Ben McKay, Sam Draper (post ACL)… Lewis in an open market is every chance to get band open compo.. At which stage AFL abolishes band one compo out of spite.. -

He opted out last year. He wasn’t likely to get called in the first round and makes sense financially to stay at college for another year which he did. Seriously, you’re comparing competing in MMA and a state of origin match.. The clubs sign off on their players competing in these games.. The players are also paid to compete in these games.. The players aren’t sneaking out to compete without the clubs authorising it.. -

My opinion, state of origin if set up correctly can be the way players can test themselves against the best and play with their best peers. In AFL the greatest individual award (aside from Brownlow) is All Australian selection and that doesn’t lead to anything more as there is no one to compete...
