Why aren't more clubs into Joel Freijah? 1 year left on contract I know, but would fit our needs perfectly. Can play multiple positions (half back, midfield, wing). Big bodied. Can kick goals, has touch with skills into F50 as well. Offer him 6 years at $800 or $900K and more midfield time. 14 +...
Smith has to stay in if it's Laird v Smith.
I'd take 15 disposals from Smith vs 25 from Laird any day of the week.
Smith is faster and has a better kick. Also more likely with his athleticism to get a spoil or hand in defensively and impact a contest.
Opposition coaches love Laird getting it...
Forgot to add that in the Melbourne intel. They rate him highly. I know all clubs meet the families but they have definitely made the trip to WA a couple of times. Not worried about go home factor as they were with Curtin.
FWIW and not a lot of new info but ...
Intel from Melbourne is that if we can trade up to 2 they believe its for O'Sullivan. North are putting too high a price on it at the moment. Want our future 1st. Asked Melbourne for 5 and 9. North may cave and accept something extra given everyone...
Wanting to hold on to F2 is more likely because it gives us flexibility to trade up to North's pick 2 on draft night if our player is there. If you believe that North are looking to slide back and take a tall over a mid as rumoured.
For what its worth (given I've posted once before) but a close contact of mine at Melbourne has confirmed they'll take Windsor unless they can jump to Hawks pick at 4 to take Watson (which they don't hold out much hope for anymore)
He confirmed that Curtin is sliding because of the go home...
