    Jones pushed himself out of the club. AFL mandated the vaccine stuff and he up and retired rather than put himself on some sort of indefinite leave which mean that he could come back to any club than us when the mandates were dropped.

    They’re not wrong though. The amount of times I’ve questioned the logic of a particular selection or strategic decision, heaps of people will scramble to say “they know what they’re doing, they’re professionals, who are you to question, etc” when surely everyone in this thread has known someone...

    Not surprised, just my frustration we’ve kept the same approach, which I perceive as one that has let us down in some crucial games. (Collingwood/Gold Coast etc) I guess I just have a fundamental disagreement with the match committee on how the sub should be used strategically.

    Trying to understand your first point - are you comparing Rohan’s game against Stocker last week to his play today against Port? If so I agree that he was stiff to get dropped in the first place. Gotta remember he missed a significant part of pre season and would only be returning to form now...

    No but was hoping that we’d actually make a strategically useful sub choice for once. Choice of emergencies is also suspect, given all 4 are smalls and gives no flexibility for late outs to talls pre game.

    Whelp just realised Stocker and Dow are playing VFL. I guess that’s another player at risk of leaving at the end of the season. Quiet reminder that LOB is also a UFA due to being re-rookied....... We might be in for a rougher offseason than we expected and depth might get impacted.

    Dow took years to even have the body to play seniors footy. Only at the end of last year did he actually get to show off his increased size and strength and make use of it at the big level. He also improved his ability to create space for himself within a crowded pack at the end of last season...
