    Dodoro and Essendon had a great period all things considered. They didn't cave on the dunkley deal when it would've been easy to and were on the better side of the saad, fantasia and Caldwell deals. Sadly, that's about all Dodoro usually wins

    I sort of feel bad for doing this but we've lost a lot of homesick players over the journey for a lesser return than what would be deemed fair. Just not sure why McCartney didn't take pick 40. I get they won't use it but they could've at the very worst traded it for a future 3rd at some point...

    Would be interested to know if the goalposts were ever shifted here. If the dogs told dodo 2 weeks ago that it was going to cost 8 and a 2021 first or they wouldn't deal, then he should've just withdrawn from the deal and not wasted his and Dunkley's time.

    Dodo on SEN said Ned Guy put together a 3 way that would've seen a future 1st, 2 2nds, 1 3rd and Treloar go to the dogs for Dunkley. Sounds like the dogs were never trading him and played Essendon like a fiddle

    If North finish 16th, do they get pick 3 or 4 next year given that Daicos will be gone before your first pick? FS, NGA, whatever. They have pick 6 7 8

    I think both parties did the right thing. Dogs won the trade period full stop. Essendon didn't cough up a future first and 6 7 or 8 and the dogs still managed to get Treloar on the cheap. It's easy to pay overs to get someone but knowing when to walk away is harder.

    Sort of agree. I reckon 7 and 8 is better than giving up a future first and say pick 15 if they were go split. Future first could be top 3 in a super draft, although that's probably the point where everyone walks away happy. Any of 6 7 8 and their future first is a massive win for the dogs

    Surely dodo isn't offering just 8. I think at a minimum it's 8 and a future 2nd which is fair value but given his contract status, then that won't get done. Think Essendon's only hope is to get a split going and offer a late first with their future first but that's a lot of domino's to fall in...

    It's possible. I mean, they're obviously not going to talk to essendon again. They've given their demands and if essendon meet it then the trade can still happen but it sounds like they want overs and that's the best possible thing they can do
