    Dodoro and Essendon had a great period all things considered. They didn't cave on the dunkley deal when it would've been easy to and were on the better side of the saad, fantasia and Caldwell deals. Sadly, that's about all Dodoro usually wins

    I sort of feel bad for doing this but we've lost a lot of homesick players over the journey for a lesser return than what would be deemed fair. Just not sure why McCartney didn't take pick 40. I get they won't use it but they could've at the very worst traded it for a future 3rd at some point...

    Would be interested to know if the goalposts were ever shifted here. If the dogs told dodo 2 weeks ago that it was going to cost 8 and a 2021 first or they wouldn't deal, then he should've just withdrawn from the deal and not wasted his and Dunkley's time.

    Dodo on SEN said Ned Guy put together a 3 way that would've seen a future 1st, 2 2nds, 1 3rd and Treloar go to the dogs for Dunkley. Sounds like the dogs were never trading him and played Essendon like a fiddle

    I think both parties did the right thing. Dogs won the trade period full stop. Essendon didn't cough up a future first and 6 7 or 8 and the dogs still managed to get Treloar on the cheap. It's easy to pay overs to get someone but knowing when to walk away is harder.

    Sort of agree. I reckon 7 and 8 is better than giving up a future first and say pick 15 if they were go split. Future first could be top 3 in a super draft, although that's probably the point where everyone walks away happy. Any of 6 7 8 and their future first is a massive win for the dogs

    Surely dodo isn't offering just 8. I think at a minimum it's 8 and a future 2nd which is fair value but given his contract status, then that won't get done. Think Essendon's only hope is to get a split going and offer a late first with their future first but that's a lot of domino's to fall in...

    It's possible. I mean, they're obviously not going to talk to essendon again. They've given their demands and if essendon meet it then the trade can still happen but it sounds like they want overs and that's the best possible thing they can do

    McCartney is doing his best to lose his job. If they don't budge on caldwell, hately and Cameron and they get nothing for them, it would be the biggest fail in list management history. I think this one gets done but the other two look dicey

    What would you consider to be fair? Personally, I think that's too much but I agree that it will cost that to get him. Essendon should hold on to their future first and offer someone else's with one first rounder from this year as a final. Dogs likely keep him and that's ok

    Essendon trade radio well and truly underway. Already talking down dunkley being worth 2 firsts. First and second is fair value apparently. Goddard seemed to think Essendon was discussing splitting 8 with the pies for 16 and a future 2nd. Don't see how that makes sense unless the pies send...

    This one looks like it's going to be really difficult to get done. Dogs will dig their heels in which they have every right to do. I doubt essendon offer 8 and their future first which would get it done but it's an expensive price to pay given it projects as a top 5 pick. 8 and a future 2nd...

    He might have been worth pick 11 a year ago but he'll be going a lot cheaper than that if they trade him. Haven't tanked his value as much as they have with treloar but he's going to be a bargain. Offer a 3rd rounder or stick fat. No loss if the Pies don't accept and it's a no risk acquisition...

    Correct. Austin hanging his hat on moving up 9 spots in the draft where the picks either won't be used or are just for matching NGA bids. Besides the usual suspects, seems most Blues fans in here have accepted they've been had here. Hopefully the dogs clean up Essendon for Dunkley as payback

    No need to get upset because you have a terrible list. Ours is bad too but the topic is Stephenson to North and given your deficiencies and not having a coach or anything good happen for a while, I think this is a good move for you. You win no matter what given how cheaply he's going to be.
