    AFL footy in Ballarat 2012

Its got nothing to do with where the premier is from. It is an election year. He won't be premier if his party gets voted out. Ballarat are marginal seats which Labor could lose, Bendigo aren't.

    The AFL should market Vuvuzelas

Rugby heads sometimes brought them to the Gabba. But they would always get very strange looks from the southerners. I have always thought that they are incredibly annoying things that we certainly do not need in footy. I find that while soccer has plenty of artificial atmosphere, footy has...

Expansion Pass mark for Karmichael's debut

I think he did ok. Jim Stynes debut for Prahran was not much better and Karmichael is starting in a higher league than that. Stynes won a Brownlow. Hunt has plenty of room for improvement. Most of the Irish guys that come into the AFL start not much better than this.

Why Jack Watts will never be an elite KPF

I agree 100% and what's more is that I have exactly the same views on Cale Morton. He might rack up the possessions but he just doesn't have the "stuff" to ever be elite. Jordan Gysberts however, is everything that Cale Morton should have been. Maybe the "Dermie effect" will kick in once...

Bloody Sick Of Hunt, Folau & Inglis Already !!!

Its owned by News Limited which has huge vested interests in League. Good or bad news, its good exposure for rugby league in Victoria and hence why they are running a disproportionate amount of articles. But for once it is good to see the HUN also helping the AFL's media machine rather than...

Past League/Union Players who could have made the code switch

The debut of Special K and recruitment of Izzy has finally got me excited about AFL again. Can't wait to go down to North Coburg this weekend to see how he goes in the VFL. Personally Hunt reminds me a lot of Mago McLean back in the Brisbane Bears days, will be good, but not spectacular...

Where to now for the Fitzroy Football Club?

I'd love to see the FFC in the VFL, but the AFL would never let it happen. The AFL has no interest in seeing the VFL become a strong, viable competition which it would if clubs like Fitzroy were to become involved, especially given that Geelong and Collingwood now field sides in the league. I...

    Matthew Whelan Tribute Thread

Wheels was a natural leader, great playmaker and tough as nails. I got his number on the back of my long sleeve demons guernsey back in 2004 and will be very sad to see him go. I was shocked to learn of his "retirement" as apart from injuries I think he's just been getting better and better...

Now Inglis thinking of crossing over. I applaud the AFL on this one. Keep poaching!!

What gets me is Wally Lewis' comments. He was a great bloke and I used to be a fan of Wally - until his outburst. This is a guy back when the Bears first made the finals that said he liked the game and wouldn't mind have playing AFL if he were tall enough. Now he's having a crack at someone...

Someone needs to teach Bailey the old concept that when you're onto a good thing - stick to it. :(

    Liam Jurrah

He's a gun in my opinion. Has everything except size. He's wiry though and that may never come, but with his pace, leap and ground skills he doesn't need it. May struggle against taller stronger backmen once oppositions sides work him out, but he's got that bit of freakishness that should...

    Queenslands Young Talent Dries Up

Not a lame troll, its the truth http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/79773/default.aspx Despite some losses, Queensland have gone backwards. They now officially have the absolute worst junior talent in the nation. I find it very hard to believe Gold Coast Football Club is...
