Not sure what the quality of the draft is like this year but I think the club needs to load up.
Was a great game Saturday and a break out game for a few players inc MRJ, Dow - also liked the look of sonsie & brown - great games by Vlas and Rioli - BUT given our current situation 1-3 and with...
Tigers looked like a team that has given the season away last week. That first quarter was diabolical - I had to turn it off, they just didn't look competitive at all. Saints with their style of play will get on a role and win pretty easily I'm afraid. I still have nightmares from that game...
I'm OK with it - in fact I think Richmond should have done more resting of key players through the year. I know that Reiwoldt would've been rested but there's simply no one that can replace him. They're obviously sore and Marvel is not kind on old sore bodies. If they played this week then...
Pretty simple haha - I wish - the rules around HTB are the most ridiculously grey rules of any rule in any sport. Evidenced in the debate and frustration shown every week on this forum.
Was it really 8-2 free kicks at half time - I didn't realise that! I thought it was more like 4-2. So richmond only got one free kick in the second half!
Genuine question - did you actually feel like the demons were being harshly treated by the umpires in the first half?
IMHO - For the first...
I think they're probably just saying that some of the decisions were bewildering and I would say out of context from the way the game in general was umpired. The umpiring for most the game was great because they let a lot go - and it was a great game to watch because of that - but then they...
Was really enjoying that game and it was because the umpires were not involved at all until nearly half time - it was a great game of footy - but then the umpires realised they weren't involved and went and fkd it up. 50 against hopper and free to Gawn and absolute disgrace and changed the...
Rohan entered the contest recklessly and braced for contact exactly the same as Mansell and with exactly the same outcome - there was no intention with either incident. If the AFL is basing its decisions purely on outcome then what is the difference between the 2 incidents?
The AFL needs to explain what the difference is between Mansells incident and Van rooyens incident - where he got off. Both were contested ball situations and both resulted in incidental (not intentional) contact to the head - both resulted in concussion.
Then theres de Goey where he launched...
Yep - the AFL are stuck because if you take the physicality out of footy it will lose its niche and audience. Irony is that they'll show this incident in their promos
I hope it gets judged in a similar manner to the Van Rooyen - it was a football accident while contesting the ball, as Goodwin said at the time, if he is found guilty it will affect the fabric of the game.
In fact there was another similar incident yesterday in the Blues/Ess game - where both...
He was really just contesting the loose ball. There was an angle they showed last night where you can see Mansell look at Aish - that will count against him, so will the fact he was concussed. BUT his feet never left the ground, he basically just braced for contact at the last second and it...
up until last night I thought the umpiring had been OK this year, we were even winning a few free kick counts - but last night was diabolical! Its gunna get real bad if we string a few more together
You need to get your head out the sand - a lot of teams have similar injury lists inc the Tigers who have 12 on their list week including our 2 main rucks and main KPF.
