Facts are we have not consistently started the season with a massive injury list. Especially in comparison to other teams.
It's frustrating that it's happening for a second season in a row but we have a whole different fitness team than we did last year and the year before that too.
Any...
Don't we have a completely different team than we did last year and the year before in the strength and conditioning department?
We had the Irish fella leading the team he's been replaced now.
This isn't really our issue, we are very highly ranked on scoring from chains that originate from half back. (44 points per game vs 33 comp average)
We cannot score in any other way at all, that's been the problem.
I would still rather wait, will be cheaper next year when not contracted and we can bank another first rounder.
Having said that if it was a now or never scenario then you probably pull the trigger.
Don't totally disagree with you but its been shown you need to be really careful getting rid of or trading out senior blokes before you have players ready to step up.
Kids don't develop on their own, they need the A class players and senior blokes around them (As well as the coaches)
If we...
But he did last year? Which is why we went after him as stated by Ross. Obviously before that he was pretty average but he was great at clearances for Carlton last year. (With limited game time too as he was often the sub)
I think he averaged over 6-7 per game.
Ah yes fair point and taken. I would agree in that case.
I mean it's not ideal because we're not used to it but it should not be an excuse for the kind of performance we put up.
NBA and NHL can't really be compared to AFL.
The requirements on the athletes are totally different. AFL needs longer recovery because of the distance covered compared to those sports.
NBA players only cover on average around 3.5 kms per match vs AFL up to 15 kms.
NHL or ice hockey which I've...
I reckon Windy has a bit of speed and clearance ability about him.
6 centre clearances against the pies he was quite dynamic.
We've seen him accelerate away and from the front of a stoppage on occasions as well.

I think so too but it probably won't be instant, we've seen with Sinclair how much an interrupted pre-season can have.
We may not see the best of him until next year.
I like your glass half full take.
My worry is when the fixture gets easier we will stink it up like we did against the Hawks last year in our first match against them or the Eagles which we won but barely.
I feel like RTBs game plan often lets the s**t teams bring us down to their level...
Yeah I agree with you but young players or not young ones we do need to fix up our delivery and give our forwards more opertunity.
My comment was kind of directed at those who I know will blame King if he comes back and struggles because he's not getting any delivery.
We can all disagree but the coaches beleive his position is as a forward.
As Robert Harvey said he gets lost in the traffic when he's around the ball, so I guess thats one reason he doesn't get big minutes there.
Personally while his set shots are terrible I actually think he's a good forward...
