Can the Hobart stadium be built on budget?

I'm just interested on people's opinions on if they believe Mac Point can be built for the $1.13 billion. I believe it's a good chance because it's a design and construct contract and it will be built down to a fixed price. I know many down here that believe it will blow out to $2 billion and...

    Mac Point Construction Progress

I had a chance to listen to some of the public accounts hearings on Mac Point Stadium today. I will say I'm even more confident than ever that the stadium can be built on schedule from what I heard. I honestly believe a lot of those opposed down here may be surprised to see how close it does...

I'm definitely not a troll. If you actually fully read what I have said you will see I am definitely Pro stadium.

    Mac Point Construction Progress

I have tried telling members of the No stadium page this and they have told me that's it's rubbish. They go straight on to say the government has basically never delivered anything on budget and use the Spirit's situation as an example. I don't understand why if this is the case that the...

    Mac Point Construction Progress

I'm definitely not a troll ,I'm just concerned we could still lose the stadium and in turn our team. I'm just interested in people's opinions in what could happen if a very high quote is given. I understood that you may think I'm a troll, but I'm honestly just interested in people's opinions...

    Mac Point Construction Progress

If the chosen builder comes back with a quote of $2 to $3 billion do people believe the government will be put under big pressure from those opposed to reassess the proposal? I just think big questions would then have to be asked about where all the extra money will come from. I'm hopeful it...

Game Day Round 6, Tasmania vs Sandringham Zebras, Sunday 3rd May, 12.05 pm, UTAS Stadium

The cap is 8,000, but only around 2,000 turned up to day following on from the 5,100 from the first game there. I think the support up here isn't as strong yet, but it could still grow over time.

    Mac Point Construction Progress

It is interesting to hear that only one company has lodged an interest in building the stadium. I think this could show that companies see it as very complicated when it comes to building such a complex project and doubt whether they could build it for the allocated budget.

    Mac Point Construction Progress

Definitely a lot of surprised people down here in Tasmania after finding out the team won't play in the new stadium until it's 4th season. I heard a few say this will definitely delay when they buy a season membership for the team. This obviously also means the club will be restricted to just...

Defin Anne Beach said yesterday construction won't start on the stadium until mid 2027.

    VFL VFL Team

How quick do people think tickets will sell for Tassie's first vfl game?..... I understand it's only second tier level footy but obviously been our first vfl game leading in to our afl team, I think numbers will be a lot bigger that usually expected in vfl.

    Memberships Tasmania Membership

How can you know that when the early numbers haven't been announced yet?...... It sounds like they weren't really keen to announce how many were sold on day 1 on abc radio yesterday interestly.

    Memberships Tasmania Membership

Just interested if people know how many memberships Tasmania sold yesterday on the first day of the new membership drive..... I would also be interested in knowing what people's opinion’s are on likely numbers for the Tasmanian team.

Mac Point Stadium! - "Tas Says Yes!"

I know many believe cost blow outs are all most certain although I still think it's a fair chance it could be kept on budget. The building contract is what's called a p190 and that means it is 90% likely to come in on budget. They also have commites set up to monitor costs and processes set up...
