Top 2 should clear away from the chasing pack which will be close. Easts will be competitive as will Northen at home. Burnside will snag a win or two but it will be a long season for them.
Gillman has been the assistant coach for 3 years under Harvey. I heard back in the day he played for Strathmore or Abers. According to players he has a very good footy brain and well liked.
They are a pretty tight group so it is unlikely many will leave. Even with all the issues this year only two left and one came back. The others retired or moved to the country.
With good weather predicated during the day it should be a great Grand Final with two teams that like to move the ball. I'll go with Westy by 3 goals. After 40 years they probably deserve a bit of luck!
You’re not wrong. These were the teams in Div 2 ten years ago;
Hadfield - won a flag but back down
Roxy - won a flag but have been relegated
Moonee Valley - won a flag but now hanging on and were second last this year
Jacana - won a flag but came back and folded
Keilor Park - won a flag but...
No teams dropping from Div. 1 have bounced back immediately for a while now. Westy were competitive the year they dropped and they have been here a couple of years now. Roxy will be up there but not outright favourites.
A good effort by Burnside yesterday. East Sunbury started strongly but the Bears controlled the game after quarter time for a deserving win. With at least 5 starters out and with their top line U18’s being moved back for a finals campaign they really stretched their depth. Hard to see where...
Cavka targeted one of the BH Under 18 kids and when the big bodies arrived went running and was pulled back. It was actually quite funny as a BH player yelled to Cavka that he should be in jail and he went off mouthing not realising he was actually having a go at a cop. A few CD players were...
Whilst the Bears did lose a few players they kept most of their list and were competitive early in the season for large chunks of games. Unfortunately for them they have been decimated with injuries, with at least 4 season ending. Last week they played with 5 Under 18’s. This year won’t end...
I saw on the Northern chat that Lachlan Evans has walked on Mernda and is trying to transfer back to Burnside. Probably too late to make a difference this year but it would cause some problems for teams trying to make finals if he returns.
