Free Agency Targets
Who could the Hawks realistically add to their list through trades next year? Given our first pick in the draft is currently at 32, I can't see us trading to pick up anything of note unless we give up a good quality player (Frawley) or pick up a player through Free Agency. I...
Yeah surely Shoey plays buddy's high half forward role. He's a natural forward, and we'll allow Gunston (or himself) to get the third defender. More significantly our backline already has a nice balance of talls with Lake, Gibbo and Stratton.
However it's very likely Shoe will be used as our...
Knightmare has him as one of 10 potential A grade players in the draft.
Most say he is the best or close to the best inside player in the draft. He averaged 38 possessions a game at TAC level.
His brother is one of the best young players in the game.
After speaking to clubs the AFL website's...
Callum Twomey from the AFL website said this about where he would rate the two in the upcoming draft:
"Tough to say. Maybe Heatherly top-40, but Tatupu who would know. He has barely played. Rookie at best but obviously has some talent."
I think Grimley has shown signs, but i think there's a few hawks supporters who are a little over confident about the impact he'll have in 2014. I really think Shoemakers is well ahead of him in the pecking order for Buddy's fwd line role. Grimley's agility is very impressive though. I agree...
The Age reporting he's signed 4 years at nearly 700k

Daisy would be a great pick-up if its true.
At his best he is a genuine A grade top 20 midfielder in the comp. At his worst he is still in our best 22. Daisy and Longer are great replacements for Buddy considering Buddy was always going to leave.
I wonder the impact that getting Daisy would...
Shiel is already very good and will be a serious a grade mid over the next decade. But it's very unlikely we'd get him.
The GIANTS have responded to a report in today's Australian newspaper about Dylan Shiel. General Manager Football Graeme Allan said Shiel, who has played 33 games and...
yeah Greg Denham wrote it in this morning Australian newspaper:
"Shiel, 20, who finished fourth to Jeremy Cameron in this year's best-and-fairest award, is understood to have told the Giants he wants to return home after 33 games in two years".

Would take him at the mighty hawks in a heartbeat. We'll have the cap space post Buddy and we could try and push him through to the PSD w 600k on his head.
Otherwise Hawks have 1mill to spend on someone else to get to 100% TPP.
Longer wont cost more than 300k. How do we spend the rest?
Can't believe all the negativity toward the idea of trading in Dusty Martin?
He may absolutely be a flog. He might not be a Rhodes Scholar (these are hardly qualities foreign to many footballers). But he is undoubtably a star AFL player in the making.
It's very hard to recruit A-grade...
Yeah it's a good point. Have to take into consideration what trade options clubs could have as well as salary cap space. If bud left we'd clearly have the cap space but not much in terms of trade bait- pick 16-19 would be our first pick.
GWS - pick 1, Taylor Adams,
Dees- have already put...
Think Dusty just went from "highly unlikely" to "quite possible" in the last few hours.
Pending Buddy's departure - he will be one of the very few big fish that are available - and we'll have the money Whether we're prepared to spend it all on someone with obvious behavioural issues is another...
