Mitch Stevens (son of Mark), who went undrafted, has moved to SA and trained for the Eagles (WWTFC) in their first day of pre-season last night. Question - if he has a blinder of a year and nominates for the Draft again does he still qualify as a father/son, or once you're overlooked the first...

Hehe!! Working with someone whose partner is very connected to the playing group has its advantages. I don't like to ask too many questions, but every now and then we'll have a conversation that piques my interest.

    Oh my ... that's a big contract!

Would definitely roll with Jack Cook. He's been doing a bit of pre-season kick and catch with some of the senior AFC lads. He had an outstanding u18 year winning the League BnF off just 6 games. State vice-captain, but was overshadowed in the National Champs a little. He then played League for...

I posted that yesterday when I was told we had offered one to Tom McGuane and the other to an ex-Swan who was around 24 years old. I wasn't told the name of the player, but deduced that it could be Foot. I do hope it's Foot. He's had an outstanding season in the VFL.

I actually really like him and hope he's the one we've asked to train on. Some of his games against quality VFL opposition were just massive, especially against a stacked Brisbane team. He won Southport's B'n'F and I'm pretty sure, according to his Insta made the VFL Team of the Year. He has...

No he is not. And he won't.

Yep ... the person I spoke to this morning knew McGuane was the man. The other guy they didn't know the name of but mentioned Sydney Swans, so a few of us have 'Asked Jeeves' and have deduced it could be either Arnold or Foot. Could be neither, and maybe another ex-Swan.

Maybe we like him because his name is kind of like Harry Andrews?

Fairly reliable intel. I'd had word that Burgess was leaving a few hours before it was announced from the same person, and a few other tidbits along the way. McGuane was the name I was told. Arnold and/or Foot I can't confirm. That was just research based on what I was told which was former...

Correct on McGuane. He's very, very small and light though. So not entirely sure why we need a small forward under 180 who will blow away in the wind. Collingwood clearly didn't rate him. Harry Arnold fits the description. KPD, 24 years old. Came through Gold Coast Academy. Hasn't played a...

    1) Collingwood father-son who didn't get drafted 2) Mature ager who previously played a few games for Sydney and may have also had association with the Suns.

Kids and managers do this all the time for the National Combine. These kids know what their results are, so rather than be ranked below par for all to see, it's a "Did Not Test" next to their name instead.

The "knob factor" perception is not just reserved for people on the outside looking in. We'd dodge a bullet in not recruiting him.

Not so much other clubs, but more so posters on this board. With Zac Merrett probably attempting another departure end of next season, Dyson probably sees himself as a walk-up start in Essendon's midfield come 2027, whereas it's a little bit of wait and see at other clubs.
