The Bar - Beer, Wine & Spirits Discussion Thread

Oooh yeah, that Nail Red Carpet is sublime, an improvement on their already great Red Ale. The Mash Red Cat is also well worth a look. Missed the chat about Innate but I agree that they produce some excellent beers, their coffee milk stout that is doing the rounds at the moment is delicious. I...

Game Day West Coast Eagles vs Western Bulldogs - Round 15

I know it's hardly science but when I did the ladder predictor this week this is exactly where I found us, 4th or bust away at the Gabba

    5. Josh Kennedy 4. Elliott Yeo (we don't win without his 4th quarter) 3. Tom Barrass 2. Jack Redden 1. Luke Edwards/Luke Foley/Harry Edwards (9 games between them going in and they were all immense) What a ******* win.

Analysis Does Zac Langdon have footballer legs?

I was freaking out when he was the furthest man back in the 3rd quarter trying to QB the play. We had blokes 50m away calling for the ball when we all know damn well that Langdon can't kick the ball 50m. I like elements of his game but if you can't kick a ball further than I can then I don't...

Preview Changes vs Adelaide - Round 9, 2021

Depends on fitness I would think. If JK is not right to go, I suspect the only change will be Barrass for JK and swing Oscar forward again. If Liam Ryan is suddenly good to go then I can't imagine he would need a week in WAFL and I'd bring him in for Langdon (who is improving) or Waterman.

Autopsy Positives and Negatives vs Cockburn

Like it or not, Tom Cole will be a 10-12 year Eagle (he has grown on me the last couple of years). Premiership player at a young age, become largely dependable at playing his role and will grow with time. Don't be surprised if at age 27-28 he has a Brad Sheppard style emergence as a really...

Preview Changes for the Derby v Fremantle @ Optus Stadium 2/6/21 @ 2:40pm

I also agree with this assessment of Rotham. Despite his height, he doesn't play tall well and I see his best attribute to be his kicking and rebounding ability. To that end I see it as a straight choice between Rotham and Witherden for the second selection in that role with Hurn an automatic...

Preview Changes for the Derby v Fremantle @ Optus Stadium 2/6/21 @ 2:40pm

Tough one this week, depending on fitness I think my ins would be: Hurn for Rotham (feel bad about this one) Edwards for Gov (assuming he's injured) Petch for Langdon Ah Chee for Jones Williams for Vardy Kennedy for O'Neill Feels a bit half back flank heavy but would assume that Duggan/Nelson...

MVP Votes Rd 5 WCE vs. Geelong

    5. Darling - one of the few to keep at it even at the end 4. Allen - finished with 2 from 4 shots, one of our better players 3. Gaff - looks like he is running through treacle this season and I'd say he is playing hurt. Tried more than most. 2. Witherden - Did enough to keep his spot 1. Barrass...

    Insightful Media Coverage

Yeah I don't mind Brayshaw in general and he usually has a pretty decent idea about the Eagles. Brayshaw and Hamish are the better 7 commentators. BT has his place as a hype man, I can't stand him but appreciate that plenty like him, but shouldn't be leading any games.
