Rugby league have a great policy of capping registrations of players who come from other clubs. E.g 3 per year, per age group.
I don’t think it’s in the best interest of footy to have clubs with 5 teams per age group. Unless they all live in close postcodes of course..
Huge jealousy to Redcliffe and congratulations on having an environment that players want to come to but gees another QAFL Team of the year member into their Division 2 squad.
I would hate to be an opposition coach trying to sell hope of a flag this year
Why would it be that clubs with two sides who have ambitions to play Saturday footy again not just play Saturday footy?
Surely aflq would require the proof of registrations for them to have 2x sides for Fridays anyway.
Just seems very unnecessarily grey now.
Being sustainable in QAFL takes years and years of work! Think about coops, they have been at the top of Div 1 for many years now and almost everyone is forecasting a bottom three finish in their first year.
Not sure any club would be anywhere near it. Just having a gap in QAFL location and/or...
Don’t think it can work now either. Going up a level needs solid foundations off field and buy in from a playing group on field. Can be a slippery slope when clubs hit a level above. This had happened to a wide variety of clubs over the last 10 years
