    I vaguely remember a furore over Johnny Mac where he declared that he had only been suspended a couple of times yet his wrap sheet was slightly longer and he then fell around the deregistered mark.... But I am sure he got through and played in a Premiership.

    He brought some characters into the league, Johnny Mac, Cassett, Quinny ( could play) Jacobs etc etc. Sal husseiin and Bruno were terrific players.

    Moody, no one is doubting the standard at the VAFA they have a great number of school clubs that have an instant feeder and many like Beauy and Ormond and the Rovers that have a junior feeder. The SFL is not trying to rival the VAFA for standard rather providing a club for blokes to play that...

    Tiger The SFL clubs also have to vote new clubs in which they did for all the new clubs over the past 5 or 6 years.It is not just a SFL call it must be ratified by clubs

    That is a shame they were so good the first time they played in the SFL - 3 teams. The VAFA ruined them I reckon, the SFL supported them the VAFA considered them just a number..

    Good point Tiger but I reckon half a dozen years ago the SFL were just trying to build wherever they could as the league was just about closed down, more clubs and teams = more revenue to stay afloat.

    Good comments Trend, master but I reckon that Brooklyn Bulls,mornington, Parkside were during the years prior to the re birth of the league, Dragons were going really well the first time they were with the SFL. Both EH and Hallam are too close and fight for the same resources on and off field...

    Just pointing out the ugly facts of your "wonderful league" 2 games being called off in one year and broken jaw. Seems a dangerous league. of the 70 clubs those that are from Districts and not born from a school many that I talk to have major concerns about the league as I have mentioned before...
