    CWC Qualifier Tournament - NZ

scotland maintain their odi status and UAE gain odi status as of today. Both are favorites to qualify for the world cup and we'll know within 48 hours. The winner of the PNG V HK game will also gain odi status and a chance (pending results) to qualify for the world cup. The loser of that...

Malinga returns home due to being too fat

Has the tournament gone too long ? Will the Stars fall over, with perhaps not having their best XI available ? Should it overlap the international matches ? Will BBL4 have a different look, with next summer being predominantly a odi summer ? IMO this is the Stars best XI, can they get them all...

    CWC Qualifier Tournament - NZ

top 2 join the other 12 to compete in the world cup, with 3rd and 4th to gain/maintain odi status. Uganda and Nepal effectively out now. Canada and Kenya will struggle not only to make the super 6, but look almost certain to lose odi status. So 2 new teams (assuming Netherlands and Scotland...

Australia-Pakistan test series reduced to 2 matches

back to the topic at hand: unfortunately it's happening too often (have not seen a odi or T20I series downgraded) 2008 2 test home series (top end) v Bangladesh cancelled (odi's went ahead though) 2008 4 test tour to west indies downgraded to 3 tests 2010 3 test tour to NZ downgraded to 2...

Changes for the 5th Test SCG

assuming we go 4-0 up, and everyone is fit then why change the XI? how good would it be to go through a 5 test series with the same XI. no need to put anyone on ice. there's a mickey mouse one day series and in 6 weeks time atest series in south africa.

England over the next two tests

wow swann retired, trott (probably never to play another test) a slight rebuild maybe. still got guns like cook, pietersen, bell, prior, anderson and broad (pending injury) about but geeez. poms down to 15 if broad is out injured. do they have the guts to replace prior with bairstow...

Weakest Australian XI since the 70's

While the weakest aussie XI since the 70's is going I thought I'd come up with an alternative one. The criteria for this one is they must have at least played 30 tests. This narrows the field down from 435 to 89 and makes things a little more difficult. I only included guys I've seen play test...

Weakest Australian XI since the 70's

this thread is surely about batsmen who average under 40 (other than keepers) and bowlers who average over 30 and didn't play alot of test cricket and wouldn't hold a spot in the team on either ability alone.

Nepal qualifies for World T20 2014

kenya are my fave minnow - have been since 1996 world cup :-) not sure why zimbabwe and bangladesh have to go through qualifying (they are test nations afterall) - there may be a gap from the "big 8" but the ICC continue to treat them with disrespect eg. only 2 test series and always against...

Nepal qualifies for World T20 2014

i think you'll find it's only 2 of these 8 that progress, making the second stage 10 teams. Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will be the favorites but will have stiff competition from Ireland and Afghanistan. Interesting to see Scotland, Canada and Kenya missout. Namibia and PNG are on the rise as well.

Less than a month out , who's our XI for Brisbane

No reason why the test side couldn't have been announced tomorrow and who know hughes may well have been in the test squad. i see warner and hughes as our openers long term (i can't see rogers going past the ashes series and the upcoming south africa tour)

    Tendulkar - The Greatest Ever?

you can paint statistics anyway you like but bottom line is : 24 years, 200 tests, 16,000 odd test runs @ 53 or 54 plus his one day stuff puts him right up there. from what i have seen for me he's up there with g chappell, ponting, v richards, lara. interestingly enough in my time following...
