Not much pressure or spread coming out of that slow paced midfield. Hotton's injury hurts but hopefully they have a few others with pace to rotate through and quicken it up... If not we'll have to monster them in the clearances and cp's. -

Is Damien Hardwick the greatest coach of all time?
5 years later and I haven't changed my mind. Not the goat. A quality coach, a club could do worse than Dimma, but nowhere near goat status. He's doesn't have the footy intelligence or creativity to be in the goat conversations like the Matthews/Sheedy/Jeans types imo.- Words: 48

Training Pre-season 2026
We had something like 18 AA squad members during the Hardwick reign and 14 were premiership players. No doubt squad members < final team but still shows how highly talented the premiership teams were. -

Midfield 2026
Last season we compounded the slow mids with slow wings and high half forwards with guys like Tresize, Ross, McIntosh and Dow. If we instead balance with speed it could work. -

Interesting in the interview Yze's said his suggestion to the recruiters was to get the best players. Not based on how he saw the game (question was 'aligned with his gameplan'), rather solely how we rated them as players. Bit different to Gieschen's 'players we moved towards the top of the list... -

List Mgmt. Which players have we been playing out of position
I think Brown and Banks should be our defensive wingmen. Neither have the weapons of Houli/Rioli/Short types to compliment our current KPD’s. Other than that Ross, Trainor, Dow, Sonsie and Treszise are no wingers. Trainer back, Treszise if needed back, and sonsie/Ross as midfield backup. -

No need for an 'external' review atm. The club pulled the wrong lever going for a refresh, but they have correctly pivoted to full rebuild that is on track so far. -

Universal Love Adem Yze - Extension Until 2028
2 years is good amount, as others have said it gives him room to develop and not coach for his immediate future. The players seem to love him so that's a big tick also. Now it's all about putting the support around him and helping him succeed. In the end, unless he's doing something stupid like...
