James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

Where is your evidence the program had ceased? https://www.sportsintegrityinitiative.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Arbitral_Award_WADA_ESSENDON.pdf Section 161 and 162 As to your question, the players have to declare any supplements or medicine they’ve received. Not declaring it and having...

Prediction Round 12 Changes vs Brisbane

We’ve played enough games with Young out of our side, both this year and last. If we can’t win without him, we should pack it in, because he’s wildly injury prone.

Is it now too hard to win the flag from 7th or 8th?

Pretty much where I’ve landed. I actually think it’ll make for stronger finals games overall. Less teams coming in and getting blown away because they lack recent finals experience.

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

You forgot the whole “getting the players to line up behind him at the conference and fake cry” part of the grift

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

His best ever season is 12 wins, that might get you into wildcard round this year. Imagine the dizzying highs of that!

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

As I understand it Essendon’s argument is that “the players were confused about whether or not to list supplements on a form that said ‘please list all supplements here’” I know footballers aren’t the brightest bunch, but you’d think a couple of the 18 would have figured it out. The question...

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

The forms ask to list prescription/non-prescription medications or supplements. The players jointly fill out the forms with the officials. There’s no way to get confused here. Just more excuses from the guilty. https://www.wada-ama.org/sites/default/files/2023-07/doping_control_form_v13.pdf...

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

I don’t think we are going to find common ground here, so let’s just agree to disagree on his level of culpability. I will say that I do believe that he genuinely thought everyone else was already doing it.

You might want to read through the WADA tribunal notes again.

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

Yes I think he attempted to cheat and got caught. You can’t say “I take full responsibility” then when someone says “you are responsible for this” take them to court. Those two things are at odds with one another.

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

So Dank and the players were in on it and Hird was just an innocent bystander? That stretches believability doesn’t it?

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

Hird has had, what, a decade to go and do assistant coaching jobs? Instead he’s just decided to do nothing and it’s his god-given right to coach Essendon into the ground.

James Hird return to Essendon: yay or nay? (UPDATE: Hird confirms he wants the job)

The players were meant to report what they had taken during the week to WADA officials. After training, they would be pulled aside and asked if they had taken any medication that week. Every single Essendon player looked the official in the eyes and said “no” despite having had multiple...
