    why is AFL so Ugly to watch and to explain these days!

    A big part is perception as there is far more footy on tv than ever before. When we do see games from the past they were often the best. Plenty of great games this year. Congestion is a problem early on in games but eventually the game opens up and goes one on one. Just let the game...

    Live footy makes a huge difference to the tv ratings, probably shaves a few off the crowds. Massive tv year for footy this year. Good balance of teams in a wide open season. :thumbsu:

    Complacency

    The Suns did the same thing a month ago, they forced us out of complacency to go up a gear to win the game when the whips were cracking. A great sign of good football team. They can't all be 10 goal wins like last week. Overall improvement in the last 3 seasons? :thumbsu:

    I know we're expected to beat GWS, but...

    Have faith, we won't pick a team that could lose. Hirdy knows we need to bank these wins. GWS are a young team with talent who have a go but they are no threat to our midfield. This is a good game for Hurley to kick a few.

    Shouldn't this thread be in the RL section of Bigfooty? The AFL has got its $1B plus deal which from a coverage point of view is better than previously. I don't watch NRL, but it seems they are always trailing behind like a 3 legged dog :p RL should do better this time though, get their $1Bish...
