Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion: Round 6 vs. Carlton Thur 16/04 7:30pm (MCG)

I really hope it's not Sullivan or Allan. Swadling was good in the last VFL game, would love to see us take a chance on him

Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion: Round 6 vs. Carlton Thur 16/04 7:30pm (MCG)

We had a narrow loss against a highly rated side. I don't expect wholesale changes, especially with no VFL game this week. JDG will miss and for him I'd love to see Swadling come in. He can play a mid/wing role rotating with Lipinski & Roan Steele Off consecutive interstate trips and a with...

List Mgmt. 2026 AFL National Draft Class

Walker was very good today, clean hands and burst from stoppages, he'd be playing for Carlton now if he was old enough. HVH was the pick of the 4 rucks that played for the Academy, he looks like the top of the non club tied players behind Walker and Cochrane. Will be some debate who the 4th...

    Player Watch Jai Saxena

I thought Jai was seriously impressive today in the VFL. Has really good instincts inside 50, clean touch, gets to the right spots. I had assumed he'd be a long way off it, but now left thinking I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a sneaky game or two towards the end of the year.

Agree with this and makes it even more difficult with Teakle out there. Too crowded for talls

    Harrison looks very rusty.

    Player Watch Oscar Steene

I think the main thing the AFL ratings does is try to measure impact on the game - whereas the numbers here are just based on raw averages. All I'd take from that is Oscar was very impactful with his limited touches (and minutes - only 60% of game time) according to the AFL ratings

Game Day Changes & Match Discussion: Round 4 vs. Brisbane, 7:30pm Thur 02/04 (Gabba)

Hipwood is out for a while. Their keys should be Oscar Allen, Morris and probably Gallop I think more likely we just pick Parker. Frampton to Allen, Maynard to Morris, Howe to Gallop maybe

    Player Watch Oscar Steene

Loving the recognition Steene has rightly got from his debut, was very impressive. The narrative of the Pies being too old will change very quickly if we start to uncover a few more guys like him. We all know there's young talent there in this group, just need to see them get a chance.

Game Day Changes & Match Discussion: Round 4 vs. Brisbane, 7:30pm Thur 02/04 (Gabba)

This is the big question for me also. My personal preference would be to just unleash Anderson, but Allen probably deserves it based on how he responded at VFL level after being dropped. Parker for Moore is a no brainer for me unless they surprise us by picking Cochran. Don't think this is...

Definitely agree the attempts to force too many rucks in the past has not been great (remember 2016, we played Grundy/Witts/Cox vs Melb and got destroyed), but more talking the Fly era with Cameron and Cox. The game has changed. Having 5 on the bench and no sub means you can play a 2nd...
