I think it shows OMs are doing brilliantly given they've gone 3-1 whilst using 31 players already. Logic would suggest they wouldn't be making unforced changes with such a good start. Must be plenty of injuries that they're absorbing.
At OTs my mail is Nicolosi will resume through the twos...
That's nice.
Here's a little tidbit I found on the VAFA website....
I daresay the top teams are winning games and only replacing players when they get injured.
If it ain't broke, no need to fix.
Conversely, the definition of stupidity is trying the same thing and expecting a different result
Missing 3 regulars hardly equates to a "completely different team".
Looks like over 80% of your 2015 core seniors have played seniors in 2016, many have played all 4.
Fortunately the average age of a Trinity senior player is 23, not 35. Also helps that they happened to go within a nipple squeeze of winning the flag as recently as last year! :drunk:
Absolutely cracking game at Wangaratta Sports Ground this afternoon between the top 2, with the hosts clawing the scores back to level by kicking the last two goals of the game in the final 4 minutes, including an ice cool slot by their standout in Will Brodie.
With heavy overnight rain soaking...
He's coming along very nicely. Understands the game plan and structures well, and has performed well in preseason and PM hit outs. Given our top age midfield is strong and we roll most of them through small forward, he was always going to have to be patient whilst we have our full squad...
At a pinch I could throw Scotch into the mix too. :D
Looks like they have eschewed all their ex-AFL talent in deference to rebuilding in Premier B using schoolboys and close mates only. This is exactly what OTs did in 2013.
I think they are clearly more relevant to a purely Premier section...
I doubt Old Haileybury were expecting to be in Premier B for 2008 after topping A grade in 2006.
Winning a Premier C trophy ten years on is a clear example of a club going backwards. At present, St Bernards appear to be on a similar course unfortunately.
As I said - look at the medium/long term...
Yeah - and my point is that you hope that the players who are recruited into the club buy into the club ethos/culture, as it is in trying times such as now that you need them to roll their sleeves up and knuckle down.
Historically some clubs (eg. old Haileybury, Old Camberwell) have lured...
Well hopefully lightning doesn't strike twice. I know a few players/officials involved at the Norwood FC (EFL) which was his junior club. He returned there in 2014 after finishing up at the Kangaroos and they understood he was in for the long haul there.
Fair to say they weren't impressed when...
