What? As opposed to all of the other teams in the competition at the top end of the ladder who are full of all of their juniors? It doesn't matter which club you are at, if we want the competition to be of a decent quality, there is no way that any senior QAFL team is going to consist of players...

Not quite correct. McKenna not under 23 and he was out there. I only watched a little bit of it, but noticed Brain, Beecken, Answerth and Tunstill out there amongst others. I know that a couple of those are under 23, but they have had a good amount of time in an AFL system. Aspley looked ok...

    AFLW SUNS AFLW Season 2026

I don't disagree but I don't think anyone was going to offer better than that. The deal was done very late. The club did the right thing by her letting her go for a third round pick, rather than making her stay, and then prioritising the kids and not selecting her to play. I think she is a big...

She was smart and chose to leave. Saw the writing on the wall that Academy kids will get priority. She will be very handy for Hawthorn and should work well with McDonagh.

Yet another young player who they couldn't develop to their required level. I thought she had more upside than a few they have kept. Perhaps she will go elsewhere and do the same as Kaylee Kimber. Hopefully the new academy kids are capable of coaching themselves.

The biggest problem is they keep drafting the same type of players they delist. Except the new draftees are just less experienced than what they got rid of, so they have to start the development all over again. They have drafted plenty of top end junior talent over the last few years and none...

But has she got footy skills? There's already enough on the list who have skills that aren't up to the standard. And I have no confidence that the coaching staff have the ability to develop a "project". On that note, any ideas why the midfield line coach disappeared mid year and was replaced...

If they pick up Dekota Baron in the draft, then I wouldn't mind seeing Havana Harris or Darcie Davies down back. They won't need Baron, Dupuy, and either Harris or Davies all playing forward. And Lynch and Wilson are terribly slow and not overly tall if the opposition have a good marking...

    AFLW SUNS AFLW Season 2026

Probably not shocked by any of these given how the season evolved and selection. I agree with most of your comments, although I think Fullerton and Oliver had quite a few mates who played regular games and suffered from the same issues. Some of the key defenders put in some ordinary efforts at...

Great to see them get another win. They have appeared to try all year, even in the big losses. They just lack the class of some of the other teams and pay dearly for an inability to control the footy. Hopefully some of the talent coming through are good ball users and not just good ball winners.

That's what you get when you leave your leading goalkicker on the bench until 6 minutes to go in the last quarter. Smith only had 51% game time yet looked our most likely forward. She's one of the few who can kick it. I struggle to understand the selection and game set up. Perhaps he is good at...

I think the advantage for Broadbeach is that there's only 2 coast teams who are very strong so there's an appetite to spread the talent and even things out a bit. The disadvantage for Sherwood is that a team not far from them are really struggling so difficult to justify adding another Brisbane...

    AFLW SUNS AFLW Season 2026

100% I have been banging on about this all year. Their major ball winners have very poor skills and consequently they never control the ball. Add to that their poor decision making - look to go inside when easier options out wide are available. I watched the open training session this week and...

    AFLW SUNS AFLW Season 2026

Lack of foot skills very evident in those conditions. So many players who have a crack but unfortunately have very poor skills. Sad to see Whitfort do her hammy as she is one of the few who can hit a target. Very difficult being a forward when there was no ability to control the footy and string...

I thought the same thing. Surely you can squeeze into a pocket or at least on the bench with 90 goals in the bag. Picking 4 mids on the bench is a bit strange.
