Essendon 2000 has to be the greatest Team of all Time?

Richmond's MCG record in finals against Melbourne based teams in the Dusty era says otherwise

Rumour GFC 2022 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists

Not the end of the world. We drafted Holmes and Neale anyway.. We would've used two of those picks in the 2020 draft on them. As for the other pick, it was a matter of whether Collingwood preferred Conor Stone or Henry. We were happy with either. Of course we could've kept our 2021 first instead...

Club Focus Geelong 2021 - Stengel, Ceglar, Conway, Knevitt, Willis, Kroeger, Whyte

Howes + Goater please at 24/25. Jack Williams and Hough with our later picks and I'll be over the moon.

    Father Son/ Academy Free Hits.

If Gary Ablett Jnr was named, say Robbie Gray and Scarlett was named Cameron Delaney, then both wouldve probably gone were Gray and Delaney did in their respective drafts (probably the most similar junior players I could come up with). Neither players are relevant to a discussion about...

    Ladder streaks against rival clubs

If only counting after finals then Geelong over Brisbane is 2005-2021 17 years

Is Steven Wells seriously past it?

Interesting analysis. Could say similar about Hartley at Richmond. Outside of Vlaustin who was a single figure pick (reward for being sh*t) Richmond have just Bolton, Balta and Graham left that I would rate as average AFL footballers or better taken in the national draft over the same time...

Assuming no injuries and the INS are right to go INS Rohan Atkins Miers OUTS Sav (Managed) Higgins (Managed) Close (Managed) Narkle (omitted) With Atkins coming in move Blicavs to the wing/ruck and shuffle around Holmes and Simpson to cover Higgins/Close. Close needs a rest. Has played...

    Prediction Potential 2021 retirees

Money well spent by Adelaide I guess. In all seriousness that was probably also his best ever game as a cat. (couldn't have been worse than his other game against ESS last year) Pretty impressive effort to play your best ever game for 2 clubs in the one game.

    Ladder streaks against rival clubs

Good thread 2004 also the last year Brisbane finished higher than Geelong. Essendon last finished above Geelong in 2003. Barring a miracle Geelong will also record 20 years of higher placed finishes over Carlton 2002-2021.

    Opinion Unpopular Footy Medalists/award winners

Leon Davis 1 Premiership Medal - didn't even play in the decider 2 All Australians - 1 as a forward ahead of Mark LeCras who kicked an extra 30 goals and was overlooked and 1 as a defender in a superteam who couldnt actually defend.

Traded Jordan Clark and F4 traded to Fremantle for #22 and F3 (Carl)

I'm not trying to denigrate Jack Higgins. I realise that he's had some serious challenges along the way that you noted. Ive drawn on the comparison as both were drafted as midfielders who could play another position Higgins FWD, Clark BACK, both were in teams with a lot of depth in those...

Traded Jordan Clark and F4 traded to Fremantle for #22 and F3 (Carl)

I didn't go into too much detail about the rest of the Jack Higgins trade as I feel that there isn't much of a difference between Richmond giving back last year's first round pick which was ultimately pick 26 for St. kindas 2nd Rounder this year likely pick 28-32 particularly if you factor in...

Traded Jordan Clark and F4 traded to Fremantle for #22 and F3 (Carl)

Jack Higgins was traded for a first round pick last year despite not being in Richmond's best 26 (wasn't named as an emergency in their GF side). Both Higgins and Clark are the same age (should Clark request a trade this year) couldn't break into strong midfields (Geelong bats much deeper IMO)...

Geelong - Too old, too slow?

Tom Stewart and Mark O'Connor. Both 191cm, quick and agile. Can't really get a better pair of fast, agile medium defenders on their combined salary. Henry is also 191cm, quick and agile but lacks footskills. It's the footskills out of defence we lack not speed and agility. Bews, Atkins...
