    VFL 2024 VFL Thread

There were a few standouts in the young guns game yesterday that I feel suit the style of game that we play. Uerata does some nice things that you can develop from, Payne is the sort that has multiple paths to goal, very versatile and is really strong in the contest, McArthur is interesting...

Kershaw sort of quiet didn't notice him too much, De La Rue got more involved later in the game.

Quite a few of the forwards and flankers showed a fair bit. Though Kobe Shipp played a pretty good game off half back, Hanily's repeat efforts to pressure and win the ball were amazing, Payne showed off his athleticism kicked a couple but could have easily kicked 3 or 4, McArthur showed some...

Only by a little bit. That intercept that he had in the first showed really good closing speed. Halving that 2v1 deep in the forward 50 was impressive too.

He isn't being played out of position. He is a midfielder not a small forward so he should be played as one

Would much much rather McLachlan/Uerata etc. Young guns games were Gags came from and he is miles ahead of the recycled players we keep picking from the msd. Would rather get someone of his type in 6 months early than another clogger.

Need to actually go for one of the well performing 19yo in the MSD too and not just another list clogger like we have been doing in the past

https://www.afl.com.au/news/1110356/2024-young-guns-series-announced Here is a couple of good games to watch for the midseason draft. Really want to get a good look at Uerata as he sounds like the sort of player that we need more of. Also really like the little bit I've seen of McLachlan

Draft Profile 2024 Mid Season draft prospects

Neither have really caught my eye really. Both just look like decent VFL players and not much more. Really would rather try and get one of the 19yo's that could very well be long term players than just pick up what would just be more average depth players. One of McLachlan, Uerata and Kershaw...

    Changes v Bombers

Got to remember how many injury setbacks he has had in the past. Never really had a clean run at it over and extended amount of time.
