    Cricket things that annoy you

I'm not the one being precious. I'm simply telling you the words and phrases that I prefer to use - you are using increasingly hysterical and nonsensical language in response. Personkad? Really? But if you must, that's just a run out. If you want more context, run out at the non-striker's end...

    Cricket things that annoy you

The England team have been referring to a nighthawk for at least a couple of years. It sounds a bit silly, tbh, but most cricket terms do so one more silly phrase won't hurt anyone. And, you know, 12th player? Substitute fielders? Takes about a millisecond to think of alternatives.

Technique, style, lots of different words to use.

A lot of commentators refer to the position as just "Third". As someone who prefers "batter", "Third" is the one that doesn't come naturally yet.

Test India v England (5 Tests) + Ind A v Eng Lions (1 Tour Match and 3 FC games)

If you take out Bradman's top six innings, his average drops to 81. What a loser...

Yeah, they're not shifting the batting order around that much for potentially one game. I see it a bit like when JL made his way onto a few tours because he could keep wickets if necessary. Was he the next best batter? No. Was he the next best keeper? Of course not. Was he good enough to do...

Bancroft needs to bat in the middle order for a while to prove he can cover anywhere in the top six, which is why Renshaw is there.

Because we were brought up to believe that every other country's umpires were cheats, but not ours. Especially the sub-continental umpires (and players).

Javed Mianded was dismissed LBW 8 times in tests in Pakistan. https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/40879.html?class=1;dismissal=3;filter=advanced;host=7;orderby=start;template=results;type=batting;view=innings

This is probably the place to put the qualification method for the next CWC.

Even then, Klinger only got selected because half the regular T20 side were in India for a test match that started the next day. It'll take a lot more than one article from Daniel Cherny to get anyone into an Australian side.

The article specifically talked about him as a potential ODI player only. Nothing to do with tests.

Not saying you are doing this, but I'd caution people against judging players based on their name. For instance, Hong Kong captain Nizakat Khan was, yep, born in Pakistan but has represented Hong Kong since under 17s, some 15 years ago. Guys like Aizaz Khan and Haroon Arshad are definitely of...

Born in Japan, has a Japanese parent, moved to Australia at 6. His opening partner plays grade cricket in Perth, apparently.

    Australian Women v South African Women Jan 27-Feb 18 2024, 3 T20s, 3 ODIS and 1 Test

The phrase you're looking for is death trap. I worked behind the bar up there for a couple of years - genuinely surprised it didn't fall down all by itself.

    Australian Women v South African Women Jan 27-Feb 18 2024, 3 T20s, 3 ODIS and 1 Test

Lowest innings total by South Africa in tests, and the third lowest of any innings this century, ahead only of Pakistan's 53 vs Ireland in 2000 and the Netherlands making 50 vs South Africa in Rotterdam in 2007.

    It's a four-day test, so you are 100% correct.
