The 90s eps were at least (mostly) standalone so a young rugrat could understand what was going on while stuffing his gob with Weetbix and then heading to school.
They are cramming too much into each episode now for no clear reason and it's not a good idea imo. K.I.S.S.
A handy summary of Australia's Olympic weekend:

Though never particularly popular, race-walking often results in medals for Australia.
The World Athletics Team Championships are on today.
Australia took bronze in the first event (U20 10k Team) with Isaac Beecroft finishing 1st individual and setting a new National U20 record.
We have...
World Champs for an individual sport are their own concern, but I agree that at the Olympics there are already too many swimming events. Not too many other sports at the Games - gymnastics the other - where one person can win 8 medals.
The mixed relay came as a result of an IOC push for more...
It was a terrific performance by Torrie. The 19yo has been competing for nearly 4 months now and probably tiring. Though she was thrilled to get a lane (one of the worst) in a DL. she admitted earlier she was 'a little bit terrifed' with all those women way faster than her - and they should...
As well as the swimming finals from 6pm tomorrow, the first Diamond League begins in China with Aussies able to stream free.
A bunch of Aussies competing and here is an AA preview with event times (AEST):

100 days out from Paris & Gracenote has updated their Olympic medal predictions.
Australia now in 5th (I think we were at 7th in the last one).

Some magnificent swims already tonight.
Wasn't expecting many fast times at this meet since most top swimmers are training through it and focussing on Trials/Paris.
But
NR to Kaylee
PB to King Kyle (non-Olympic event but shows that his hurried change of base/coach doesn't seem to have...
Fast swimming this morning in the Aussie Champs.
Kaylee McKeown, Elijah Winnington & Meg Harris (a big PB to beat Mollie O'Callaghan in the 100 Free) were the standouts.
Finals tonight should be good although some were saying Kaylee may not swim the 200IM final.
Again - because of Collingwood (and AFL supporters in general) I thought Peter would be safe for a few more votes.
Though I guess he is older than most previous AFL players who have entered the jungle.
Shame that Frankie has gone. I've never seen one episode of 'Malcolm in the Middle' but he seemed like a nice, humble guy and I would have liked him to stay longer. He probably had little chance of being voted off until push came to shove at the end.
Michelle, I thought, would be safe for a...
Which is another great reason to come home and rack up 'easy (??) points in Aussie meets. A win/win/win for you/AA/Aussie fans of the sport.
Even world-class T&F athletes don't get paid anywhere near as much as our domestic footy players.
An athlete like Spencer might get a contract with a...
The Box Hill Classic (or Burn) isn't exactly part of the Australian circuit.
It's the Continental Tour meets AA need them to compete at. Melbourne (Gold), Adelaide (Bronze) and Canberra (Challenger) which all provide bonus points to athletes which contribute to World Rankings (which qualify...
It can be hard for those in college to come over for more than the nationals but those who are not studying should certainly come back. They get AA funding and they should support our domestic season.
And the rule was also applied to others who don't reside overseas (eg Nina Kennedy and Kurt...
Little me used to sit up the top of the time-keeper's stand at OSF (when things were hand-timed) and put up the result for track races. I would always keep the crowd waiting a little by putting the most important number up last lol
And it's her birthday today so I guess she will have a lovely day at Mile End.
But yes - saw her competing at OSF many times including the last Nationals held in SA in 1992. What a great competition that was too with Melinda Gainsford becoming a star and a fantastic men's High Jump where three...
After Matt Denny's magnificent record in the disc today, I'm really looking forward to these finals over the next couple of hours.
Can the juniors Seb Sultana & Aleks Stoilova upset the senior champions in the 100s?
Even back in Olympic Sports Field days, there were always good crowds in Adelaide. I remember some of the big stars from interstate coming through the gates and going 'wow' when they saw the size of the crowd.
Hectic fortnight of viewing on 9Now & 7Plus for fans of swimming & athletics.
Swimming Age Champs kicked off 9am this morning with finals from 6pm and continue through Sunday. After that the big boys and girls swim in the National Championships (but not Olympic trials).
The Athletics National...
