Not fast? He won the sprint at the combine!

So your solution to his mental health issues, and using vernacular common to the past, would be tell him to “to snap the f@ck out of it”. Mind boggling!!

Settle down Dave - he’s copped enough crap on social media recently.

I had high hopes IF he could put on some bulk - but now 2 more years down the track and he’s no stronger. I can’t see how he makes it, if he can’t hold his ground in contests.

JC unfortunately has poor decision making and disposal when playing as a mid.

Elite speed with size tends to be an attractive combination.

No - it’s your brilliant insight that they need to be apprised of. You should take all the credit.

Excellent Speed for his size - he won the sprint at the draft camp.

Great work Macrae - fantastic long kick off his wrong side.

Maybe you need to send an email to every recruiter and ask why they didn’t pick up Long.

VFL Round 3 Carlton v Collingwood 2.05pm Sunday 14th April

You’re using hindsight based on Longs current form to suggest we should have cut JC. No one had a Crystal ball.

VFL Round 3 Carlton v Collingwood 2.05pm Sunday 14th April

Agree - his stagnation has been disappointing.

VFL Round 3 Carlton v Collingwood 2.05pm Sunday 14th April

Except your lament is based on his form playing with us and in the state game. Otherwise you would have been suggesting JC be cut for Long in the preseason, and that didn’t happen. And if he was showing his current form, with the Hawks and Box Hill he would have been picked up by another Club...

VFL Round 3 Carlton v Collingwood 2.05pm Sunday 14th April

Which is what I said - but Long hadn’t played a game. So unless you could see into the future there was no reason to cut JC for Long.
  17. N

VFL Round 3 Carlton v Collingwood 2.05pm Sunday 14th April

So was JC - so there was never a scenario where JC could have been cut for Long. So saying we were persisting with JC over Long is incorrect.
  18. N

VFL Round 3 Carlton v Collingwood 2.05pm Sunday 14th April

So you’re saying we should have cut JC - and added Long even before seeing him play a game? That’s just fantasy- unless you had a crystal ball.

They just beat Melb. My point was our performance was very good against BNE , so your negativity rings hollow.

Ok - but how does that compare to JC? Long may just have caught up to JC. Anyway - it’s a pointless debate without actually knowing weights. So happy to leave it there.

Why do you conveniently forget our performance against BNE?

    Training 2024 training updates.

Apparently not but we can’t really check now that weights have been excluded from profile. So it’s a visual comparison.

So true- yet so many here have this unrealistic expectation of top performance each week.

Bulk is roughly the same - otherwise I would have made that contrast. So settle down.
  26. N

    Training 2024 training updates.

They’re around the same size - JC is 2cm shorter. He’s tackling more because of the position he’s playing - JC would do equally well in that position. Taking grabs and better by hands is debatable. I just don’t see Long as a major upgrade. What may see him retained is progress in development...

Same midfield we beat twice last year.

Ok - but why is Long a better option than JC. What attributes has he got that JC lacks?

Unofficial Preview Round 6 vs. Port Adelaide, MCG, 1:45pm Sat 20/04

Painful IMO, because they are so often missed (eg Cameron in the fwd pocket late in the HAWKS game ) or they are 50/50.

Have you considered the other issue - of footy IQ, and leadership. I suspect ND will have the game day influence in the longer term that Pendles has had. ND sees the game in a very unique way and we shouldn’t under estimate this aspect in addition to his 10/10 abilities. I don’t see leadership...
