Heard Brereton with a minute to go talk them up competing in a contest like they were a school side playing in the AFL. Spare me.
They've had everything given to them for well over a decade now and they're still soft as jelly; hope Hardwick at GC is a complete disaster.
Seems they've run out of available series to show as there's been nothing new over the past couple of weeks.
Goodness knows how often they've shown that 91/92 Oz v India Test series. Seems to be on once a day.
An overlooked fact of that match was less than 11.5K were at that Hawks/Cats match that day.
1985 was an awful year for crowds; lowest H&A average since 1969. There were a lot of issues with the game at the time and I reckon thuggish behaviour was seen as one, which partly explains the furore...
Yep. This quartet have been more or less bowling together for 7 years and they've only been part of one overseas winning Test series.
Plus they played in two losing home series to India.
Just seems to be comment of classic NZ intimidated by Oz mindset.
I guess it would have its fans but old BBL matches holds no interest for me. Would rather see old one-day domestic matches if they're not going to show international cricket all the time.
Yeah, was pretty big deal if I recall correctly. It was effectively the first Champions Trophy tournament with every Test playing nation taking part.
Crazy amount of ODIS played that summer; even though Oz didn't make the semis of that tournament they still played 16 ODIs I think.
I remember hearing him regularly when used to listen to 3AW breakfast back in the 90s. Thought he sounded elderly back then so surprised he lived this long tbh.
Highly enjoying the channel. Saw highlights of an Oz v WI ODI at the SCG from 1991/92 that I hadn't seen any footage of anywhere since watching it live on TV at the time.
Australia chased down this target even quicker than when they beat America (7.3 overs) in the 2004 Champions Trophy.
But credit where it's due, the Windies did manage to bat one delivery longer than the USA did that match.
I was going to travel down to Canberra for a few days and go to this match but it fell through
Was that against Australia A? Think it was during the 2000s.
I think this will be 20 ODI losses in a row for the WI v Australia in Australia; surely that has to be a record for any country against another in any format.
