And in the end they didn't need to.
Did they?
Those boys are going late 2nd in the 30's.
Who gives a rats after a 20% discount it will cost the Blues a pick in the late 40's or 50's.
Insignificant. They didn't trade a 1st to make that happen either. They flip flopped with late picks.
So...
So many picks before and inbetween our picks will disappear that lots of gaps will shrink.
We've just traded down from 58 to 60, but 58 and 59 are now held by teams likely to use them to match, so 60 is likely to revert back to being the same pick as 58. So it may just have been to get an extra...
...better if they had retained academy access to Mac Andrew? Most likely. Would the Suns be better if they had retained academy access to WillAshcroft after pumping five years of development into him? Most likely. These things happen. Swings and roundabouts.
To be fair, Fremantle was one of...
Since Bids were mentioned..
WHERE THE BIDS ARE SET TO COME
Reigning premier Brisbane is set to avoid paying top dollar for father-son gun Levi Ashcroft, with Richmond looking increasingly unlikely to place a bid on the midfielder at No. 1 in this month’s national draft.
If North Melbourne...
They won't have the list spots to do a swap like that before matching the Ashcroft bid. So it's about what's left over after they match. If the bid is late enough 43 might be available as a swap, but more likely 49 is the best left.
Not having 5 potentially best 23 players out with injury for the vast majority of the season will assist us next year. And with the depth we found this year we won't need the remaining 4 to immediately take off coming off ACLs.
It's not happening.
Brisbane are the only team likely to trade down for matching points and any pick in the 30s will be wiped out when they match Ashcroft
Essendon an outside chance if they trade out 28 and 31 before their later picks have enough points to match, but that'd still just result...
The trade was about a potential Kako bid. You'll be trying to get back in and offering as much if not more than you got.
It'll be earlier than 11 that you don't need 28 and 31 to match, as your later picks will move up and become worth more points after Ashcroft is matched.
I think you'll be...
Neale
Dunkley
McCluggage
Ashcroft
Rayner
Ashcroft
Berry, Bailey, Fletcher on the wings
I just don't see a reality where that midfield doesn't make the top 8, and realistically it is a top 2-3 midfield in the comp. It would be one thing if we had a poor backline and forward line, but we...

Late pick, rookie range? Interviews will be important I guess to work our whether we're getting Guy O'Keefe or Daniel Cross. 6.09 for 2km is incredible.
Lots of considered posts in this thread, but fortunately, this group won 'one.'
My biggest concern throughout this 19-24 period and even beyond was what a waste it would have been had Fages and this group not won one. It pissed me off to no end how so many of the media, led by King and Lloyd...
I'm subscribed to Fagan's school of thought here - you need a mountain of moments going your way to win one, let alone going back to back. Just looking through our win this year
could've easily lost to GWS. That game alone had so many moments not just on our players like Daniher but theirs...
Interesting times. Richmond are the envy of every club in this superdraft.
Join me in the build up to this fascinating draft as we disect and ponder the possibilities.
As we know, Richmond will get two of the following players: Lalor, Fun O'Sullivan, Jagga Smith, Drooper, Langford and Guy...
because Daicos would've gone 1. Just because the bid doesn't come until later doesn't mean that clubs don't rate them at 1. Because the club with the number 1 pick wants their player to feel loved. Exact reason why Tigers won't nominate Ashcroft. I wouldn't have thought this needed explaining...
Langford or Smile at pick 6 is entertaining possible potato territory.
Draper or FOS at 2 is where the party is at.

These days they don't need to be free agency players, just out of contract players. Sure you have to pony up something, but nothing like you do a contracted player. Bailey Smith with a year or two left on his contract would have been a vastly different trade.
...felt off, ball movement was sharp and I don't see why we can'd do that most weeks next year
We had less than half a season with WillAshcroft.
Lohmann, Wilmott, Fletcher, Rayner Ashcroft, Starc, Ah Chee are just scratching the surface of what they'll be from the 2H of this year.
Neale played...
