Ok. I'm going to respond once and then it's over for me. The trade between Deeman and Flaps was not for Nance. Read my first post on this. The trade was Whiteside for a move-one of the 220 moves that all the teams received at the start of the year. Deeman picked who he wanted, and Flaps...
The problem I have with this trade is I think it ends the competition for this year, and I do not believe Deeman got any value. He traded an asset that is worth probably 7-8 points in the standings in blocks and rebounds, for a free agent pick up that any team could have made. I think such an...
Two things. First, do we or do we not have a trade deadline? If we do, when is it. If we don't, when was this changed? Second, I've never seen a trade like the one Deeman and Flaps just did. I have no problem with someone picking up a player and then later trading him for value, but for a...
I still haven't figured out the optimum way to play. Last year I kept everything green until the end (had one game I didn't use) but because things get so wonky in the last three weeks I don't think that's the optimum use of player slots. So then what is? Please tell me if you figure it out.
Wow, you're not kidding. Looking at the red in your game summary it looks like there is hope for the rest of us. Shades of Bostonian. On a related note, does anyone think the red flags in the summary are coming more quickly this season? Maybe Yahoo changed the algorithm?
good luck everyone. I was switching back and forth between the draft list and the budget tracker a few weeks ago trying to figure out my draft strategy and it occurred to me what a first class operation the draft in this league is. Takes a lot of work. Thanks Bugs!
After all that whining last year you didn't even bid for him? "I've just made the worst waiver in fantasy basketball history", making me feel guilty that I'd even picked him up, and you didn't even bid for him? SIR, YOU ARE UNCONSTANT IN YOUR AFFECTIONS. YOU LEAVE ME NO CHOICE BUT TO...
Maybe increase the bidding pools to 12 after a certain round? Speed things up. The problem seems to be that the rating service rates a lot of washed up veterans higher than young prospects.
Guys, I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but the team contracts cannot be cancelled by you next year. So giving contracts to expensive players who aren't stars, or players with injury issues can come back to bite you. For example, there is no way I would ever offer a team contract to...
We'll see. Last year I lost Kwahi for the whole year, Porzingis for half a year, and Westbrook shot @15 points worse in free throws.
It may seem to be a disadvantage to the new guys having so few players under contract, but having no bad contracts is a tremendous advantage. If you draft...
Wrong answer Porley! Please try again: "I will not match on Durant". There. That's the right answer. I'm sure Bugsy will be willing to correct your earlier wrong answer, now that you understand what the right answer is.
Tips for the new guys: Look back over prior years Kevin McHale threads to get an idea of what people bid for different level players at different times. Particularly for you new guys, with all that money and empty spots, you want to save a couple million for the end of the draft. Also, since...
12 Hour Delay will honor the development contracts of Embid, Simmons and Giannis if I only have three (what I think). Then Leonard will receive the qualifying offer. If I have four development contracts then Leonard's will also be honored, with Murray getting the qualifying offer. The sleeper...
Hadn't thought of this consequence. Interesting situation. I would favor whatever makes it easier for the new guys, which I think is allowing them to draft from the two teams, and then fill up the rest from their auction draft. They shouldn't be forced to take any of the two teams' bad...
