AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

Oh I’m not arguing gambling or alcohol shape attitudes. As you said they merely expose attitudes and blokes pissing away money or drinking themselves silly can end up getting violent. I just think if the AFL wants to act like they are a positive driver for change in society, they need to look...

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

Just shows a complete naivety to both addiction and how these gambling companies operate. They don’t spend millions on ‘fun’ ads with celebrities, relatable groups of characters etc to give everyone a laugh. Their bet with mates, social groups recently added etc aren’t done because they want...

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

All I’m saying is the AFL has no leg to stand on while they are arm in arm with gambling sponsors who bombard people with ads during the footy. This pre game stuff is nothing but another example of a corporation getting on their moral horse when they really have no leg to stand on. Gambling...

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

Of course people are responsible for their own decisions. But when we’re talking about young people with brains yet to fully develop they are very easy to suck in with all the manipulative advertising. To existing gambling addicts these ads can be like a timely reminder to go and put some bets...

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

It’s so ingrained in our society it’s hard to see much changing for years to come. I at least hope we see some more regulations on gambling advertising but I’m not holding my breath. I used to think a decade ago the advertising was absurd and having a big impact on young mates at the time...

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

Unfortunately the AFL isn’t the only sports league like this. If you can play, you can be rehabilitated, there’s a good bloke somewhere in there. If you’re no good, you’re useless to these leagues and tossed to the side of course.

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

Certainly going to be interesting. The Pies since Pendles have been around have pretty much always managed to avoid bottoming out. Basically have achieved what the Hawks and Tigers tried to do but have failed at.

If advertising didn’t work, companies wouldn’t spend absurd amounts of money on it.

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

So brave of the AFL. Meanwhile they breed an entire generation of gambling addicts with their gambling sponsorships and the incessant advertising on their website, during games etc. Got to tip your hat off to the AFL.

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

If you spend the weekend watching the footy you’ll be subjected to countless amounts of gambling ads. It’s disgusting and why I will just continue to laugh at how full of s**t the AFL is.

AFL Industry - Voice Against Gender-Based Violence

We already know that anyway. Their biggest sponsors are booze and gambling companies. An absurd amount of gambling ads during the games. Two vices of course that cause zero issues with domestic violence.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 8 - Blues v Pies Fri May 3rd 7:40pm AEST (MCG)

Think on exposed form we should be winning. But it’s impossible to ever be confident against Collingwood. Went into our first game against them in 2022 pretty confident and they beat us and really got their season going after that. Pendles etc always seem to get up for these games. Hoping we...

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

I haven’t whinged or deflected at all. Said multiple times the Cats deserved to win. Whatever suits your narrative I guess.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

Again, I have no idea why you think you have the right to tell people if they can post or not. I’m not pissed off at all. We lost. I’ve said we didn’t deserve to win. Still was fairly happy with a fair bit of the team’s performance but we needed to be better.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

I’m not here to tell people what they can or can’t post. You seem to enjoy telling people what they can post though. I find it hilarious you are trying to paint Carlton fans as being the only ones to clog up threads with talk about injuries and umpires. All fans do it.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

Not even talking about the Freo game. We were absolutely flogging North Melbourne and opposition nuffies were trying to put it down to the umpires. Laughable.

Toast Lance Franklin - do you remember him more as a Hawk or Swan?

Hawks. As good he was in Sydney, I feel like he has a lot more memorable moments and had more exposure as a Hawk.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

It was the exact same in reverse last week when we knocked off GWS. Endless pages of s**t about how we’re not that good, Taylor was out, the umpires carried us home etc.

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

Collingwood could be last and us first or vice versa and the result could still surprise. Nothing is ever really certain in these contests.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

I mean Blues fans have pointed out some injuries we have and some bad umpiring yesterday, but I’m not really sure any of us have said we deserved to win? We shot ourselves in the foot and found out against a clinical team like Geelong you cannot do that. Geelong were the deserving winners and...

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

Us Carlton fans can’t win. Celebrate a win and it’s oh the umpires got you over the line blah blah. Express some praise over a performance yesterday where we played some good footy and we get bashed for claiming moral victories etc. Dare to mention how we would just like to see a few of...

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

He’s leading the Coleman. Curnow’s buggest problem right now is he keeps butchering shots he normally nails. Think outside of that he’s been pretty good considering the attention he cops as our most dangerous scoring option.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

McGovern actually helps a lot with our rebound too and is capable of hitting aggressive corridor kicks. Lewis Young on the other hand is incredible hesitant with ball in hand.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

Start of this season and how we finished last still has me thinking we are a couple of players short. We’re a bit like Melbourne in that our forward line lacks. Theirs lacks a quality tall or two whereas ours lacks the dangerous smalls. Teams know they can throw extra numbers at Curnow and...

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

We’ve only been playing that way the last couple of weeks because we are missing a bit of pace and rebound out of defence. Yes it was how we played last season but earlier in the season we were definitely trying to play more from the back half. Wasn’t a coaching loss at all. Voss is limited...

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 7 - Cats v Blues Sat April 27th 4:35pm AEST (MCG)

It’s actually completely pathetic at this point. Multiple Carlton game day threads with the same Freo posters filling up the thread with garbage Carlton takes 😂 Carrying on like a bunch of crybaby 8 year olds.
