oops sorry misread, I thought you said he was 'still the biggest negative in the forward line'... not his.

You can't do much less than Mansell on the forward line. 6 possessions. At least Cumberland can sniff out a goal.

Richmond will go into next season with 5 players down already. ACL's take a year to get over, so most won't be on the park round 1. Most will be ready early mid-season, but that is still significant.

My nephew has played the last 3 seasons without one, he's over 30, strong and a very good player, just runs in straight lines like old Jack used to.

    Player Watch #42 Mykelti Lefau

He was a rugby player who played a bit of football at St.Kida on the peanut farm from memory. He kicked 25 gaols once because he could just run through players due to his size and athleticism. Played VFL but was not a marking forward, general player who also played midfield occasionally...

    Player Watch #27 Thomson Dow

True, but he is the only one able to get in an under and get first hands on the ball at speed. That is a great trait. He has some weakness, quite a few, but he is important in the situation we are in. At least he gets clearances.

    Player Watch #27 Thomson Dow

I said preseason he needed to come back 3-4kg's heavier, he might have come back one. How is that possible when they all have supervised weight training at or by the club. If Dow had those 4kg's, he would be far more effective.

    Player Watch #42 Mykelti Lefau

No fair enough, especially a rugby convert who would have little training in regard to marking technique.

    Player Watch #42 Mykelti Lefau

This is our third ACL from a marking or spoiling situation. They all landed awkwardly. How is this happening when players from years gone past especially in the 70's and 80's, but right up to Richo and Riewoldt, flew dozens of times every match and I don't remember many if any doing their knees...

And Dow had 8 last night, the most for Richmond. Dow wins the loose ball in the pack, and can pick it up at speed. Miles sat under the ruckman and squeezed out handballs to the nearest player who themselves were usually stationary. Dow often starts a chain. Sonsie is yet to win a hard ball, but...

I think you are getting that the wrong way round. Young had no junior development, Blight has been in the system since a teenager. Just because it's not AFL doesn't mean it's not a good system.

    Player Watch #27 Thomson Dow

Agree. I don't think you can judge him fairly until we have a working midfield. At the moment he is almost the senior midfielder, (besides Baker tonight) which is ridiculous for a bloke who has played about 15 games in the midfield proper. 8 clearances means he can find the ball in the traffic...

Sure you've found enough positions for him.

    Player Watch #49 Kaleb Smith

Took the kickout when he came on, was that prearranged nor did the players step up for the kid to get him some action. I'm hoping it was he that kicked a beautiful long ball out at the end, the commentators had no clue who was who in the end.

    Gray has good springs.

How was the holding the ball against us there. Outrageous.

Prestia was rested due to a five day break next week against Adelaide. Not going to play 3 games in 19 days.

They stole the Brownlow off Richo, he won it but for corruptiion, and yes I am a Trump campaigner.

Preview Round 12 v Geelong Government Funded Park Saturday June 1st 7.30pm - Kaleb Smith Debut

He has played HF most his career. He is not a mid, and he would really turn the clock back if he plays well in there.

Preview Round 12 v Geelong Government Funded Park Saturday June 1st 7.30pm - Kaleb Smith Debut

I hope they finally give Mansell a run through the middle. Mansell vs Graham, you know what you will get with Graham, but Mansell is hard, quick and a decent kick. And he is not doing much at half forward. What have we got to lose.
  22. G

    Player Watch #49 Kaleb Smith

Blind Freddy can see Graham needs a game or two in the VFL, but that hasn't happened yet. Prestia out may have saved him from VFL, but for some reason he's an auto selection.

Louis? Would have thought it was the coach and match committee who pick the side.

Preview Round 12 v Geelong Government Funded Park Saturday June 1st 7.30pm - Kaleb Smith Debut

Lose two of our best 3 last week, season rolling on as per usual. If we don't get torched it will be some sort of achievement.

    Player Watch #49 Kaleb Smith

Smith has a lot of AFL attributes. Doesn't panic because he has the toe to get out of most situation. Doesn't have that manic pace of say Saad who only goes one pace, more a smooth mover who has acceleration. Very long and neat kick. Was in better form 4 weeks ago but good to see him finally...

Player Watch #52 Campbell Gray 2024 MSD Pick 16

I thought Gray pretty noticeably in that he hit the ball in the air at speed and a few stuck. At 195cm he looked pretty quick and agile. I also like Davidson, but he is more your tall half forward. May also has some tools, good size and reasonable mobility, but a bit one dimensional at this...

Player Watch #25: Toby Nankervis - Signed Until 2026

I thik he's having a great year. Easily beat Grundy and Marshall who are going very well this year. He looks fit and strong.
