Preview Round 14 2024 - GWS Giants v Port Adelaide, Sunday 16 June, 4.00 pm AEST @ Engie Stadium

Port have type of midfield that can give us big problems.

Preview Round 14 2024 - GWS Giants v Port Adelaide, Sunday 16 June, 4.00 pm AEST @ Engie Stadium

We are so tall down back… They have been trying to have HH be more proactive the last couple of weeks… I wish he’d be better defensively too. They are trying to encourage Idun to be more offensively minded as well. This allows Taylor, Buckley, and Aleer to play tall, with Haynes as the 7th...

As long as we keep Cumming I’m not concerned. We’ll get a good pick for him.

Autopsy Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

This is Wards last season. Haynes last season with us.

I’d have Wehr and Aleer out for Kelly and Buckley.

    On form… 10th.

Autopsy Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

Sure is. Lose this week and we are cooked I reckon. Some of the efforts are so disappointing. Those two examples where Cal Ward didn’t rush the behind, and the defenders didn’t kill that ball that Dear marked… the lack of intensity was pretty pathetic.

Preview Round 14 2024 - GWS Giants v Port Adelaide, Sunday 16 June, 4.00 pm AEST @ Engie Stadium

Hawks had no ruck for majority of the game. Our midfield has been well beaten most games for the past six weeks.

Yep. We lose this week and we are cooked. We’ll get pummelled by the swans. Our midfield just doesn’t have what it takes.

Autopsy Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

And I hate to say it. But I just don’t think this group has what it takes. They had the best of chances last year and couldn’t get it done. I’m going to lower my expectations. We might make finals, or may not, but we aren’t good enough to win it.

Autopsy Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

We are over paying large for Harry Himmelberg. Gets out marked too often. Only guy on the field who looked clean for us was XOH… a sentence I never thought I’d say.

Autopsy Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

Harvey Thomas once again sneaky good. His hands in traffic are as good as anyone’s.

Preview Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

Tom Green has come back to the field a fair bit recently. Basically since he talked himself up over Rowell as a junior. Then Rowell smacked him the following week.

Preuss is absolutely cooked. We have no backup rucks at the moment.

I wouldn’t be dropping Bedford. I don’t care if he’s not kicking many goals. His pressure is a barometer for us.

Preview Round 13 2024 – Hawthorn vs GWS Giants, Saturday June 8, 1.45pm AEST, UTAS Stadium

I certainly get sick of people saying we should win by some margin against lower ranked teams. Hawthorn are one of the most in form teams in the comp at the moment. Our midfield will get pummelled if they are not 100%. I can see Rowston possibly getting a game. Although Ward, Green, Peatling and...

Not sure who we play in Perrymans spot… such an important player player for us. Smart, good user, plays his role so well. Could Ward go down back, and we bring Rowston in?

Prediction 2024 GWS Giants - Predicted best 22, breakout player(s), general player/team discussion & questions

Peatling was good. Just what our midfield needs.

Autopsy Round 11 2024 – Geelong Cats vs GWS Giants, Saturday May 25, 4.35pm AEST, GMHBA Stadium

Definitely not Conor in the midfield. Rowston has been pretty good in the vfl. He is a clearance specialist imo so would be a good fit for our midfield.

Blicavs and Clarke both suspended for a week for high bumps on Whitfield. Good riddance.
