Last year he was drifting back as the extra number in defence for us, and he was spotty but helped sweep the ground ball. Then we re-structured and the half-forwards provided midfield pressure and Newman, Williams and Saad could sweep fine.
That period of him dropping back told us he was never...
Glad that we're looking to keep Dal Pos in the mix in that respect, because I'm not sure how much she has left in her legs.
Keeps her valued experience around the team even if she can't stay in the side.
I've got no problem with him coasting in after the bounce, but he needs to go back to being in there a lot less when the opposition load up on speed.
Cincotta can't cover everyone, and that's not part of any long term answer either. Plenty who can rotate in from forward or wing for the bounce.
I wouldn't go that far, I just feel he can't close down the vast majority of opponents that he faces there off his own steam.
He's not alone there for us, but he's not a big body either. Not sure what the benefit is.
Putting aside how much of a torturous grind our finals run was compared to what it could have been, with his endurance base he's going to get better as a season goes on, assuming he's fit and not getting banged up, but he's absolutely getting banged up.
Combine that with the needlessly selfish...
He is increasingly becoming a less athletic version of Bucks, exactly as I called when we were set to draft him.
Needs to learn his moments and he'll get the same amount of footy without tiring himself and others.
Not sure what Walsh thought was going to happen there taking possession... needed to go harder and draw a player out of the path of the ball, then shepherd
We're not going to win this with the forward setup like this and limited physical pressure through midfield... change it up so forwards can apply themselves up the ground and open things up.
Port have swung him forward to target Kemp a bit, question is will we swing Young back and play more mobile up forward.
We've got the personnel to make it work if the mids have forward rotations.
Only dead game left is West Coast, but I'd rather we looked at O'Keffee as a ruck/forward option if anything.
Look if we've got the ability to retain him as a rookie, I'm all for it, he's starting to take the game on properly.
But if we're doing that, we should probably be helping Pittonet...
It was front on contact with arms/chests involved, but seemed fairly minor despite him grabbing for his rib cage. Not sure the puncturing really happened during the game.
I'd replace Lord and Binns with Marchbank and Wilson. Lord is still too much like Bentick for mine, and Binns just doesn't...
