Hey DragoDelph what is the link to this preview? Do you get it on your phone?

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

But there isn’t any urgency to get it all done before Cox/Darcy turn 29. Both Coll & Geelong had 9 players 30 plus in their GF B22’s and we don’t have half that on our list and the ones we do have won’t be around for a premiership push. There is still time to develop top end talent. Agreed I’d...

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

Why the need for Baker though? He doesn’t fill any of the holes you mention. Agreed we need A grade talent in the fwd line whether that is small, med or tall doesn’t really matter to me but I’d lean on the small, med side (Amiss, Jackson are enough talls). Pickett, Weightman, Bolton, Ollie...

Prediction Rd 1 (you know: the first round after the opening round) team

People are forgetting how deplorable skills and cohesion are first game back each year. Brisbane will have played 4 AFL games since we last played and get to iron out the skills in R0. I don’t think we’ll get within 10 goals R1.

Tell me why we shouldn't be expecting to make Top 4 this year

Why we shouldn’t expect us to make top 4? Current players between 26-31yo - Tabs, JOM, Aish, Hughes, Pearce, Ryan, McDonald, Corbett, Switta, Wagner & Banfield. 1 quality, some lower half B22 and depth players. I don’t think we can’t make top 4 but it probably relies on 2019 form from both...

    Preview 2024 Best 22 Discussion

JOM for another 4-5yrs? He is 30 before the start of the season and while I think he should be B22, he is borderline. His move fwd is because he wasn’t good enough in the midfield. Remains to be seen if he is any good as a fwd but he is a beautiful set shot. If he doesn’t perform I’d be...

    Coach Justin Longmuir

Brodie and NOD couldn’t hold their form. JOM wasn’t an adequate replacement and now Aish to the backline. So from ‘22 midfield we need to replace 2x insides and 2x wingers. Inside is definitely sounding promising, wingers is a bit of an inexperienced lottery right now but we have options...

    Training Preseason 2024

That champion data quote definitely grew wings. It was based off half a season in 22 and he sat out the remainder of the season with a fractured back and we made the finals…hmm coincidental? I’m not suggesting he is elite, I think he has room for improvement but our fwd line is so...

    Training Preseason 2024

I agree but most small fwds would be guilty of this at stages during the season. I guess it is compounded a bit with Switta as he doesn’t kick a lot of goals whereas other small fwds often go missing but bob up with a goal or two. As theGav56 put it, how they tweek his role will be...

    Training Preseason 2024

It will be interesting to see what option they go with. I’m sure part of the plan is more goals, especially as the midfield seems stronger with Fyfe fit.

    Training Preseason 2024

I find it interesting how people are seeing Switta this year. Last year he was a lock in everyone’s B22 and Schultz was often borderline or out of team predictions. The tables have turned on Switta this year after playing his most games and kicking the most goals he has in a season. Unless his...

FB: Ryan Pearce Wagner HB: Clark Cox Aish C: Sharp Young Johnson R: Darcy Brayshaw Serong HF: Switta Tabs Fredrick FF: Walters Amiss Jackson Int: Sturt JOM Chapman Walker Sub: Fyfe (for the 1st month or so) Treacy vs Tabs is toughest pick but 100% fit Tabs has more performances on the board...

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

Is there a relevance to using 1964? I vaguely remember it being about age of father and age at which AFL players generally have kids. That skews the stat significantly against us as the only player to qualify for us in the 60’s is Kickett, Geelong for example have 20+ players in that decade...

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

So a reflection that anyone born before about 1968 would have to play well into their 30’s in order to play 100 games for us, our poor list decisions early on and the eternal quest for a big trade (Tarrant trade alone arguably cost us 4x F/S qualifications). Does our position comparatively...

    Preview 2024 Best 22 Discussion

Probably not clear in my original post but definitely agree the guys with previous AFL experience will get a club debut. Hopefully not many injuries but I’d like to see one of the rucks debut if Darcy or Jackson go down, not sure the MC will do it though. The KPD’s and smalls probably need...

    Preview 2024 Best 22 Discussion

I see our improvement hinging on the 12 players (5-6 mids, 4 fwds, 2-3 defs, Chapman being the mid/def) with 2 to 36 games AFL experience. Generally here most B22’s have 6-8 of these players in the team, so if a few have breakout years we should improve considerably, however the reverse is...

    2023 young talent time

Agreed drafting has been next to elite. Trading has seen a some less desirable outcomes (Hogan, Bennell, Lobb, trading up for Valente and to a lesser extent NOD who has every chance to come good). Honestly I like what Freo have done this year. I think Coll have shown you can sit out drafts on...

WTF is exactly what I am expecting the club to do. Not saying it’s a good trade but preparing myself for some absolutely dumb Dockery **** that is justified by a press conference saying we just had to get player X…

    2023 young talent time

This is exactly what is going to happen. Dockers list management 101: 1. Select player obtained via trade that makes absolutely no sense. 2. Release above suggested media statement. 3. Said player has injury, drug problem or just isn’t very good and plays no more than 10 games. 4. Terrible...

    Roast Vent Here

I agree with that comment but I was more thinking the AFL won’t give any advantages to WA sides until they can see some sort of financial risk to the money but bucket that is the WA market. There’s no competition in WA so AFL have no reason to invest or give WA teams any sort of advantage...

    Roast Vent Here

I posted in another thread but ultimately this is the basis of my rant. What else is there to do for disgruntled Aussie rules supporters in Perth? Absolutely nothing. The reason AFL don’t give us any advantages is that Eagles finished dead last yet had over 100k memberships (2nd behind the...

Analysis What position does JOM play in 2024?

Agree Aish is decent, I like his versatility but he is an average wing and a better option needs to be found. No doubt he stays there for now but that’s purely because Henry is now gone and the next options are anyone’s guess atm. JOM makes the bench but is a reflection of how poor our 2nd...

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

Doesn’t matter why they died it just matters that they don’t exist today. WA supporters / players can’t watch or make a career out of anything else except AFL. It won’t be until WA can show viable competition in other codes that attracts crowds and talent away from the AFL that the AFL will...

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

The AFL doesn’t need to invest in WA as there is literally zero competition for a supporter to go watch anything else. Western Force died, no NRL team, nothing else to watch or development paths for kids to make a career out of in football codes. Every year Aussie rules attendances grows in WA...

    2023 young talent time

Hi Chris25 what about Jack Cocking as a fwd prospect, doesn’t seem to be any write ups on him? Apart from the great name is he likely to get drafted? Invited to the state combine and tested well for jumping but not great for speed or endurance. Seems like he made the WA U18’s squad but I can’t...

List Mgmt. 2023 List Management thread - Pt2 Now With Added Wailing & Gnashing of Teeth

So then they don’t take one of Sharp or MacDonald or only take 2x ND picks. I’d prefer both and 3x picks. With the current instability in the list, $80k is such a small amount of the TPP (0.6%) that I don’t think it’s worth delisting and rookie-ing players.

List Mgmt. 2023 List Management thread - Pt2 Now With Added Wailing & Gnashing of Teeth

There are up to 6x spots available on the main list. We ran 36/6 main list / rookie list in 2023. The upgrades don’t matter as we can run 38/4 but my guess is we go 37/5. The 4x rookies for 2024 are Kuek, Stanley, Worner & Reidy. So we can take Macdonald & Sharp and up to 4x ND picks.

    Deathrace 2024

I actually like the deals we completed for next year. But we’ll probably do something ridiculous like trade Port & Coll F1 & Saints F2 for NM pick 17. It’s the Dockers way.
