Agree with the cooler heads that we were beaten fair and square. The one thing I took from last night was how badly we were beaten in the centre and in the stoppages.. Yes, we were without Corey and Selwood, but the bombers were without Watson and Lonergan, 2 of their best clearance players. -

Couldn't disagree more. It's become apparent that the club would gladly forgo VFL success to develop players for the benefit of the senior team. They even refer to the VFL side as the 'development academy'. -

Geelong has the biggest advantage in the AFL
Haven't read 11 pages, but I love how it's an advantage now when we're a strong side, but not one 10 years ago when we weren't making finals. Hope Colin Carter takes some more lead for Barcelona and get the kids in as early as possible. I really liked what the Dogs did, giving their F/S a few pre-seasons before the draft. -

What role is Bartel playing?
As far as I'm concerned, Jimmy has taken the mantle from the other great Jimmy, Hird. Like OldStyle said, he solves problems. Hird could change the momentum of a game by going to where needed to be fixed. Bartel does the same. -

Bit of a bump, but I really enjoy Chris Scott's pres conferences. He's got a bit of Paul Roo's about him with the media. Friendly, gives some honest answers, but keeps things close to his chest. Re: Jimmy Bartel's State It's these times that I love Chris Scott's approach to playing positions. There are only 3-4 KPP and the rest is interchangeable. Mackie, Enright, Champan, Ling, Stokes, Byrnes, Johnson, Wojo, etc make a good rotating midfield. -
