Worth noting that it's not so much the best bowler in every team that's improved, it's the third bowler in each team that's a better standard than ever.
Similarly, the technique of the worst batsman in the middle and worse teams are better than ever. Standards are rising from below, not at the...
Mitchell Starc currently has the best strike rate in Australian cricket history for bowlers with >200 wickets.
49.9!

The general standard of bowling is better now than it has ever been in that there are far fewer awful test bowlers than teams used to regularly put out.
The standard of fielding is also way better than ever. It wasn't that long ago that most players didn't ever dive for a ball in the field...
Can forgive the first one, but to leave him in after the second assessment was negligent. Should never get to a third.

The lure of SMarsh is he looks like a test cricketer. Occasionally he even scores like one.
Inevitablyhe gets dropped and we get to see the "technique"" of his replacements.
Until we find a couple more players that look like they have seen a red ball before there will always be that nagging...
What exactly is JL doing. These guys aren't getting better in the Australian setup. Batting coach might be at fault but buck stops with Langer

The issue isn't his performance, it's how he keeps getting out. Which is the same way he always gets out. Good bowlers, especially at test level, know how to dismiss him.
He has a fundamental technical flaw against balls moving away outside off stump.
Which is exactly what you don't want...
My unpopular opinion is I quite like the gender neutral terms, batter, bowler etc and think the sport will be better off for the change.
