Confirmed: Johnstone to Brisbane for Pick 14

No argument that there are some good players down the order. But if you go to the AFL website & look at the draft selections in 2nd & 3rd rounds (excluding F/S) then the odds of picking up a player that has a big impact for your club aren't good (1 in 3? 1 in 4?). The point I was trying to...

Confirmed: Johnstone to Brisbane for Pick 14

I think that the pendulum has swung too far towards draft choices compared to established players. Selection 14 of recent drafts (ignore the last 2 years to allow some development) were Ashley Watson, Daniel Bell, Fergus Watts, Angus Monfries. Are these level of selections really better than...

What happened to the Steven King to St. Kilda talk?

Anybody heard what is happening with Steven King now that Blake is staying. Was the St. Kilda rumour just journo's linking a club looking for a ruckman with a club with a third quality ruckman?

I presume I'll hear an outraged Eddie McGuire blasting this list & Sheehan today. :p

    West Coast to Meet Richmond

Only if Richmond is on the way back to the airport from Princes Park.

    For Pies and Bombers supporters....

Given their respective final ladder positions this year they should only play each other once anyway.

    Croad for pick 1

It shouldn't have . I thought he was the ultimate run forward receiver living off a great midfield at Brisbane.

the reason why geelong is soo good

Knowing the Geelong game plan doesn't necessarily mean that it will be easier to stop them. Every man and his dog knew the Brisbane game plan but they still kept winning flags.

    Eagles getting very greedy

Ambit claims are how most negotiations start. Doesn't mean much at all.

    Dean Wallis to Dockers?

He he. I think training just got a whole lot more physical.

The NRL, NBA, NFL etc drafts, in comparison to the AFL draft.

Me too. There is no real incentive to finish 30th vs (say) 26th. Portland were about 24th but ended up with 1st pick.

Not if he ends up at a different club.

Premiership medallions to every player who played a game in 2007 for Geelong?

Easy big fella! I do agree with your sentiments though. Yes it would be nice, but this was the sort of thinking that led to the GF losers medal - for a year or two the crowd ended up with a lot of these until they stopped presenting them on GF day (I presume they still don't). Sometimes life...

A lot of bitterness about Judd's decision

You mean like Kangaroos this year from 14th to 4th? Bottom line is that the gap between good and bad is not so big that it can't be turned around when things run your way. e.g Port Adelaide 12th to 2nd, Hawthorn 11th to 5th
  17. E

Looks like Chris Judd will finally get what his career has been missing....

They had to stifle this years potential to not finish higher than 15th.

Looks like Chris Judd will finally get what his career has been missing....

Can't see that. Would take a horrendous run of injuries.
  19. E

Does that mean this board can go now?

Not until facts get in the way and we have to stop spreading rumours/guesses about what Carlton are going to give up for him.
  20. E

    Do you still like Judd

Yep. Not only that, friends of mine take their kids to a lot of Carlton games & now I will tag along to watch a few. Will have impact on attendance.
  21. E

    Enjoy the bottom four, Judd

Totally agree. Add Judd & Stevens to that side (ignoring any remaining picks) then they should at the very least be around the bottom of the eight.
  22. E

Judd to PSD if he nominates Collingwood...

I doubt if Heath Scotland would have been a frontline player in their premiership year & wasn't Collingwoods pick 17 someone like Morrison & later delisted? Nick Stevens was second in Carltons best & fairest for 2004 & 5 so I reckon that both sides were off the mark.
  23. E

Judd to PSD if he nominates Collingwood...

They offered crap all to Port Adelaide for Stevens so Port decided not to strengthen one of their main rivals at the time. Why wouldn't West Coast make the same decision for the same reason?

SEN - Believe it or not?

I find it funny that posters on Bigfooty could be annoyed by unsubstantiated rumours from SEN listeners - don't we have a whole forum section dedicated to this?

We play the game as it should be played

The game plan is to a large degree dictated by your list. Do you really think that (say) Sydney could play the same style as Geelong?

Port Power Players Should Hang Their Heads In Shame

:D:D. Probably a little bit harsh on Tredrea though. Westoff & Rodan also had no impact (unless you regard letting your opponent run off you & have a great game as having impact).
  27. E

    Mark Williams coaching today

Agreed. Port like to play this style but if you're losing the 'loose man in defence' battle that badly then at least try and limit the damage.
  28. E

    Mark Williams coaching today

I thought Chad (and most of Port's high possession getters) played fairly loose across halfback. The problem was when they looked up there were no targets to kick to and were under enormous pressure themselves.

Did Choco Williams Mind Games backfire?

Did Choco just fire up Geelong with all the comments he made? Was it worth a try anyway? If anything, it seemed the younger Port players couldn't handle the pressure of the occasion.
